New Sefer Torah in Memory of the Holtzbergs

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Earlier today, Tuesday a group of Shluchim and Anash began writing the first words of a new Safer Torah which is being arranged by the family and Merkos Linyonai Chinuc and is being written in memory of the Shluchim Rabbi Gavriel and his wife Rivkah Holtzberg HYD.

Gathered in the Rebbes room in 770 guided by the Sofer Reb Moshe Klein, Rabbi Zeb Katz, Rabbi Zalman Aaron Grossbaum Shliach to Toronto, Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Rabbi Zalman Leib Markowitz, Rabbi Yehosua Werner and Hatomim Chaim Zaklos representing all the Bochurim that have gone on Shlichus to Mumbai.

After writing the letters in the Rebbes room the group went over to the house where the children of Reb Hershel Kotlarsky are sitting Shiva and Rabbi Moshe and his brother Mendel Kotlarsky made R. Moshe Klein their Shliach to write letters for them, since they are not permitted to do ‘melacha’ as per the Dinim of Availus.

The Safer torah is expected to be completed at next year’s Kinus Hashluchim.
