What an Amazing End of the Year at YNS Tzfas

TZFAS, Israel [CHI] — It all began after Shavuous when six bochurim made Siyumim on Mesechta Sota and one bochur on Meseches Brochos. Mazel Tov to Hatomim Danny Abush, Hatomim Eli Marks, Hatomim Shloime Litvin, Hatomim Chaim Cowen, Hatomim Meir Roetter, Hatomim Menachem Olensky and Hatomim Avi Habousha. Yasher Koach to the Shluchim who helped these bochurim accomplish this milestone.

The following week six bochurim were tested in Basar V’Cholov by HaRav Druckman, Rav of Kiryat Motzkin and passed with flying colors.

The last week of yeshiva was the end of the year banquet which is held annually at the home of the Rosh HaYeshiva, Rabbi Orimland. Rabbi ‘O’ welcomed the bochurim and hanhola and mentioned that this is a very emotional time for him and for everyone else at the yeshiva. Many warm and touching messages were exchanged during this beautiful evening.

Reb Avigdor stressed to the smicha bochurim how they accomplished things that he couldn’t believe could be done and that they all made him very proud.

Rav Gafni, head of the smicha program, mentioned how hard they worked from the heart and that they are bringing lots of nachas to the Rebbe.

Hatomim Hashliach Shlomo Yager said that if he could rate the year on a 1-10 scale he would rate it as an 11-12! Everyone achieved a lot on their own level. There were 27 siyumim done this year! No where else does that happen. You all had a big impact on my life as a Shliach.

Hatomim Hashliach Zalman Lever said that he gained a lot this year in a very positive way and that the atmosphere was more of a friend relationship rather than a shliach relationship.

Hatomim Chaim Shimon Dubov then got up and thanked everyone who made it possible for all of us to accomplish what we did and on behalf of the smicha bochurim he presented framed pictures to Rabbi ‘O’, Reb Avigdor and Rav Gafni.

Hatomim Hashliach Mendy Cohen told the bochurim that as much as the shluchim did this year it was all you guys who did everything and that he looks forward to spending another successful year at the yeshiva.

Hatomim Hashliach Yossi Lewis said how it was a real pleasure and honor to be here with you guys this year and on behalf of the shluchim and Moishe he presented Rabbi ‘O’ with a beautiful framed picture clock.

Bochurim were called on to express their thoughts. Hatomim Yossi Weiss said that when he came to the yeshiva he felt that he finally found a place where he belonged and felt a part of something.

Hatomim Menachem Olensky related how when he first came he didn’t care about anything. I slowly started to get into things. I was learning here and there sticking around by farbrengens which led to hachlotos. He thanked everyone who helped him along the way and for the inspiration he received.

Hatomim Meir Roetter thought that last year was a great year but this year he doubled what he accomplished last year.

Hatomim Chaim Avrom Rabinowitz thanked everyone for making it possible for everyone to come such a long way and he looks forward to next year in accomplishing more.

Hatomim Avi Naiditch touched on the fact how everyone was out there helping each other out and that you don’t see that in other yeshivas. Every single person here changed for the better and he looks forward to an even better year next year.

Hatomim Yehoshua Rabinowitz thanked everyone for the best yeshiva year he ever had in his life.

Hatomim Mendel Friedrich got up with a big grin on his face and said how he was amazed at the atmosphere how everyone got along and he was very touched by that.

Moishe Orimland said how he has never seen in his life how everyone here was happy for everyone else. It is something very special!

Rabbi ‘O’ concluded that every single bochur in the yeshiva went miles from how they all first came not believing in themselves. But the shluchim and staffed believed in them and they got you to the point of believing in yourselves. “Yesterdays dream turned into todays reality – you tackled Mesechta after Mesechta, Ma’amorim, Mishnayos and Basar V’Cholov. It was YOUR choice to do it and you came out proud and believing in yourselves. Just look in the mirror and you will see a polished and shining diamond!”

Yasher Koach to Hatomim Chaim Cowen and Hatomim Eli Marks for being the most improved bochurim of the year.

Presentations to the Rebbeim were next followed by presentations to the Shluchim. Rabbi ‘O’ thanked each shliach separately and pointed out how he was the lucky one to have the best shluchim any yeshiva can have.

The year did not finish there as the last day of the zman the six bochurim learning Basar V’Cholov were tested once again this time by HaRav Yerushlavski of Kiryat Melachi. He made the boys sweat but once again they all passed with flying colors. A big yasher koach to Hatomim Chaim Shimon Dubov, Hatomim Avi Naiditch, Hatomim Meir Roetter, Hatomim Chaim Avrom Rabinowitz, Hatomim Yossi Simpson and Hatomim Chaim Cowen on a job well done! When the bochurim got back to Tzfas at 9:30 p.m. they were treated to a grand barbecue / farbrengen at Rabbi ‘O’s home that lasted until the wee hours of the night. The bochurim are looking forward to starting Ta’aruvos in Elul together with the new bochurim who will be joining the smicha program.

Rabbi ‘O’ wished everyone a great summer and for those staying on in the yeshivas Camp Hamidbar program he promised them a summer they’ll never forget.
