The Siyum was made by Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok HaCohen Feldman, Yeshiva Rabbinical Administrator, The beginning of the 27th cycle was made by one of the Elder Rabbis of Chabad, Rabbi Mendel Hacohen Feldman of Baltimore.
Rabbi Pinchus HaCohen Feldman, the Moro Deasra and the Rebbe’s Head Shliach to NSW Australia spoke about strengthening ones Hiskashrus and connection to the Rebbe which is through learning his Torah and following his instructions which is especially through the learning of Rambam.
Rabbi Motti Beanstock, one of the previous Talmidim Hashluchim and now one of the Mashgichim in the Yeshiva Gedola and teacher in Cheder Chabad gave over a pilpul from the Rebbe discussing how did the Jewish King especially Moishe Rabainu have a haircut every day when it is forbidden to see the king when he is receiving a haircut.
Rabbi Daniel Kaye Mashgiach of the Yeshiva Gedola and Smicha program spoke about how the Mivtza Rambam began through the effort of a few Talmidim Hashluchim in Morocco and encouraged everyone to join one of the three study cycles of Rambam, which as is known generates great blessing for the individual as well as for the community, as is known when some Shluchim complained about their debts the Rebbe suggested that by “paying up” their debts in learning Rambam the would get out of their financial difficulties.
Rabbi Shabsi Tayar discussed the obligation to study and teach Torah and how through ones students one increases in one’s own knowledge. Rabbi Itamar Hatzvi spoke about increasing ones study in matters of Geula and Moshiach and about the last two chapters of the Rambam which speak about Moshiach and the Messianic period.
Mr. Tzvi Halevi Rona spoke about taking all the speakers words to heart, he gave words of comfort to those who may still not feel up to studying 3 chapters a day yet, saying by joining the one chapter a day cycle now you will be able to celebrate the siyum nest year with those who study 3 chapters a day as the one chapter a day cycle is now two thirds over! It was mentioned how some Shluchim who found 3 chapters a day to difficult were told by the Rebbe that they may learn the one chapter a day ALSO (i.e. in addition to the 3 chapters a day)… at the end of the siyum with Bentching over a cup of wine the whole assembly sang and danced!
