End of Year Mishmar Farbrengen

ALBANY, NY [CHI] — Wednesday night May 21st–the Albany Mesivta Bochrim arranged a beautiful end of the year Farbrengen with the kids to inspire them for the summer and upcoming year. More then 20 local boys participated in the Farbrengen.

Motti Rubin first welcomed every one and then Aharon Simon led the twelve Pesukim. Maishe Backman gave a Dvar Torah on how important the kid’s role was in the giving of the Torah. everyone gave Tzedakah and had a little “L’Chaim”. Then Motti Rubin persented all the prizes . The prizes included “The Rebbes” set, 12 Pesukim cards, some Mamarim for the Chassidic Heritige Series, a leather bound siddur, “Toras Menachem” sefarim, the “Wonders and Miracles series, Shmuel Muknkes story book, R’ Meir Rephaels story book and many other sefarim and story books. There was a remote-control-car as well as a lego set raffled off. Then Mesivta Bochrim received beautiful 8×10 framed pictures of the Rebbe for all their effort throughout the year.

For those who participated throughout the year, an award was given out for specializing in a certain area, i.e. Ahavas Yisroel, learning, Chayus. Also prizes were given out to the kids who participated in the Yud Shevat mivtza. The Mivzta was based on a booklet that the Bochrim put together about different subjects pertaining to a Nasi Hador, and every week they boys would learn different things about the imporatnce of a Nasi Hador and then they would be tested on it.

At the end of the formal ceremony, Mr. Kudan repersented all the parents, in thanking the bochrim for the hard work they put in throuout the year. They appreciated the Chauys and warmth that their children expereinced at Mishmar!

After this the children split up into farbrengens where the Mesivta Bochrim inspired the younger kids with mosholim, Chassidishe stories, and niggunim.

”This is already the 2nd year of Mishmar, but this year surpassed the previous one greatly“ said Motti Rubin the Mishmar Director. Throughout the year the Albany Mesivta bochrim pair up with younger boys once a week on thursdays to learn with them. Every week there is a sheet perpared by the Bochrim that contains a sicha of the week, questions, a story, an ”Inyanei Geulah Umashiach“, an inspiring ”Farbrengen story” and the Hayom Yom.

Each week there are doughnuts given out to all partisipents. As well there are many prizes for good learning and behaving during Mishmar. Each week there is talmud hashavuah and many raffles. In addition there is a chance to be able to go on Mivtzoim with the Bochrim, for all those who participate. During the recital of the 12 Pesukim nosh is given out to the boys for their Chayus.
