The Mishpacha Magazine Responds
The following is a response the Mishpacha Magazine sent to each letter it received concerning the article which attacked Chabad.

NOT ENOUGH!!! THIS IS NOT A STATEMENT OF REGRET OF ANY KIND.WHAT IS THIS POLITICALLY CORRECT BABBLE!! THERE ARE STORES NOT HAVING MISPACHA MAGAZINE FOR ONE WEEK. THAT IS ALSO NOT ENOUGH !!!
OUR NEIGHBORHOODS SHOULD CONTINUE THE BOYCOTT AND ARE LEADERS ARE TO PRINT POINTED REBUTTALS BECAUSE IF WE DO NOT RESPOND AND DEFEND OURSELVES NOT BODY WILL.
WAKE UP FELLOW CHABADNIKS AND STAND UP TO BE COUNTED
Misunderstood
What a cheap shot!
That reply answers absolutely nothing -and lacks any backbone….
And what sort of “misunderstanding?”
Upset
Sorry, poor response, they don’t condemn the article in any way at all.
Cher
Outrageous!!! Not one word of “we’re sorry” “we now see that those comment should have never been printed” “we never should have asked that question”…
idea
If all chabad mashgichim quit then the belsky will have to come out and apologize lest the ou kashrus dep. gets hit majorly
Sam
What a joke, that is not an apology. They are saying WE misunderstood and they are sorry it was unpleasant?
Im done with that Magazine. I didn’t much care for it anyway.
Moishele
100% pure, undiluted drek mit feffer. Not a hint of an apology, not a scent of acknowledging that something ugly was printed…what a farce.

Why do the Misnagdim fear us so much? We’ve been having trouble with the Seattle Kollel insisting that there isn’t an Orthodox presence in our city. They won’t acknowlege the fact that we have a thriving shul and day school run by Chabad here in Victoria, BC. The shul that the Seattle Kollel funds only gets a minyan when they bring in bochurim from away.
Mushka
this is all they have to say
Yitzchak
This statement is an insult to anybody’s inteligence.
dan
I think we should boycott all CH stores which carry mishpacha the week after this… lets get that piece of junk off our shelves!!!
calm down, you shpitzs
Remember that Mishpacha gets flack from snags for sometimes writing pro-chabad things. I respect them for keeping a broad, inclusive policy that allows many points of view to be presented.

This ‘apology’ is an insult. What if the Oprah Show featured Jeremiah Wright on a segment about burning issues about America, and Wright said a bunch of Anti Semitic drivel UNCHALLENGED. And then after a huge outcry she just says “I cover many things you know, sorry for the misunderstanding this caused”…..
By the way, I’m sure they would publish the equivalence of that drivel about a Misnagdishe Gadol! Take your apology and…
My home will be cleansed of The “Mishpachas Koirach Magazine”. And they wonder why people don’t cancel their Readers Digest subscription and buy their rag instead, maybe it is because they don’t want to pay $4 a week only to have their community insulted.
helllloooooo
A decent apology is the least they can do!
The magazine is completely anti-chabad if they can comfortably quote such blatant remarks of hatred against chabad.
The magazine is responsible for what they print, and they could choose not to print something if they decide not to.
They obviously couldn’t care less about the bashing of chabad.
They probably had their lovely “apology” (not one word of apology!) letter typed up at the same time that they were printing the article. They knew they would have it coming to them and they chose to print the stuff anyways.
Mishpacha, please plead guilty and give us a proper apology!

HELLOOOOOOO
Excuse me “calm down”!
The magazine is ALL about “snags” and their gedolim and many other chassidim and their rebbes, ALL THE TIME!
Why is chabad different?
Do snags have perminssion to complain about articles regarding chabad?!?!
I understand if they complain if Chabad is quoted criticizing their gedolim.
Otherwise, Chabad has an equal right to be represented in the Mishpacha Magazine. Criticizing Chabad is 100% wrong.
BESIDES IT WAS MAJOR LASHON HARA!!!
Bubbe Ma-asos
Dont buy the magazine. There is more not to read in it, than what to read there. Half of it is Bubbe Ma’asos.
Calm person which didn-t read magazine
To hellooooooooooo (not to be confused with hellllooooooo):
I agree to the fact you mentioned that it was Lashon hara. To use media to promote kashrus or yidishkeit-fine, but to use it to spread personal feelings about others in the negative sense is plain wrong and against halacha!
Loshon Hara
shmiras Haloshon doent apply to chabad dont u know that by now!!!
Theyre staright up about it!
“Our clear and oft-stated policy is to value all streams of Orthodox Judaism and treat all of them fairly and respectfully.”
They Just Dont see us as part of Orthodox Jewry!

An apology is when you say, “We wish we would have desisted from publishing this quote from the article, as we now realize that it was divisive and in bad taste”. Enough said, most of Chabad would have forgiven them had they published these few words.
Instead they say that you, the reader, misunderstood (I don’t know what there was to misunderstand, it was written in the English language!) and they are nonetheless glad they published it because it is consistent with their policy. WHAT AN ‘APOLOGY’!
They don’t realize that they ignore Chabad so much in their magazine, and intentionally minimize our exposure, that it is with reluctance in the first place that a Lubavitcher buys their magazine. Now they kind of seal the deal when they grant their magazine as a platform to attack Chabad. When they give Chabad this rare exposure it should be positive (or at least balanced), not negative exposure. Now they shouldn’t wonder why Lubavitchers worldwide will stop reading their magazine.

If you want to read the news from a misnagdishe news source, go to theyeshivaworld.com. They (almost always) are evenhanded in their coverage of Lubavitch, have good discretion, and deserve our eyeballs. Most of all, they are free.
ploni
It was absolutely inappropriate–journalistically and, l’havdil, according to Halacha–to publish such an article in the first place.

CALM DOWN:
Chabad is the smallest market for Mishpahach. Its amazing that over the years they have reported about Chabad in a fair manner considering their readers are mostly Litvish. If you want to be effecive, Try contacting the advertisisers who pay for ads in mishpacha. The OU did a decent job at discouting Belski’s comments. No we should take note of the comments and take strong measures to disolve the dammage the meshichistim do to the world wide reputation of Chabad.
Shtaiging Snag
What are you saying? (Shtaiging)
Don’t you all know that the Gadol Hador, a true Talmud Chacham, an Eash Shalom, The Satmar Rebbe, Shlita aproved
of all this(still Shtaiging). Now excuse me, because my hat fell off of the tip of my head and I need to go to my Daf Yomi Shiur. Being the great person I am, I give this Shiur.
sarah
my husband is right again. a snag is a snag is a snag. you cant trust them.
disgusting
i am cancelling my subscription right now!
Amazed
What wide coverage are thay talking about? Thaey speak about shluchim without Cha”V mentioning that they are lubavitch. Will they ever write a articalle about Lubavitch or Crown Heights Or about the Rebbe? They wrote a whole articale about Lev Leviav without mentioning Lubavitch even once!
Mordechai Milotay
I was pleasantly surprised to read a ‘Snag’ write a good response damning Mishpacha for their article. Check it out at: http://life-of-rubin.blogsp…
