CGI Montreal Head Out for the Summer Start!

In true camp sprit, campers and staff members packed into the three buses, Monday night, headed for Camp Gan Israel Montreal, which showed up quite late. Hugs and waves marked the departure from President and Kingston for what promises to be a fun filled summer!

  • CGI is not Montreal anymore

    CGI Montreal is NOT for Montrealers.

    This camp was built on community money and is run like a business.

    Many kids in Montreal are on the streets because they cannot afford CGI Montreal or because of the Toronto infuence were not admitted to camp for the first time.

    For shame!

    CGI Montreal is the ONLY camp with a heart. I personally know of an entire Family in Montral that goes without paying due to their dire circumstances.

    As a Shliach, I know that the only place I could possibly send my children at affordable prices is CGI Montreal. And I am very gratefull for that.

    i have tried the other camps and was turned away with a cold shoulder and a capital NO.

    Thank You CGI Montreal for being there for those that need financial assistance.

    They only take the best kids and thats a good thing for the chasidishe children who don’t live on outside influences.

    CGI Montreal accepts children based on character rather than their parents ability to pay.

    Parents who have a TV at home and are complaining about not being accepted in camp, look yourselves in the mirror and blame yourselves not the camps or schools.

    A proud parent and alumni who sends my children only to CGI Montreal.

    Nothing could be further than the truth!!!

    CGI Montreal was built by Rabbi Mockin Shlita with the Brochos of the Rebbe.

    Everyone in Montreal and Shluchim around the world know that when they need their children to be in a chasidishe camp and they can’t afford the tuittion, you could just pick up the phone and speak to this special chosid and he will do everything he can to make it work. He is a a true Chosid with a very warm heart.

    Been there done that. It works. Just Try.

    Hashem should bentch Rabbi Mockin Shlita with arichus yomim vishonim tovois. Amein.

    Plenty of good about CGI Montreal, and Rabbi Berel Mockin is a true chossid.

    However,

    It is true that many children from Montreal were not admitted to camp due to an elitist new program for the masmidim.

    Many families are priced out and cannot send their kids. It was not like that in the old days.

  • Benn to both and sent kids to both

    The market eventually governs. Camps see-saw over decades. Was a time when most busses went to MTL. Was the only well-run camp. MTL developed a we-don’t-need-u attitude while CGI NY shaped up and now most busses go to NY. Takes time, but people go where they are respected and where there is the image of well care. Word-of-mouth and personal experience tip the scales.

    WARNING: I just wanted to wake, this “Parent” up. I know of a family who sends their children to this camp. This family has a TV in the home, and everything else imaginable.
