Jews and Politics: Can the Downgrade of the US Credit Spell Chaos for Our Nation?

by Avi Lesches

“The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him/her to hold in higher esteem those who think alike then those who think differently.” (Friedrich Nietzsche)

Chaos, anarchy and bloodshed have engulfed London; it’s one of the worst outbreaks of violence that London has seen in a very long time. The riots are not happening in the slums or poor sections of the city, rather in upper and middle class neighborhoods. Who are these rioters? Young teens, college kids and young adults. Many of them are gang members and troubled teens who are looking to lash out against a society that has promised them so much, yet in the end has left them with nothing.

In London, the people who have been most affected by recent government cutbacks are the youth: they have seen the cost for education double, and they now face a marketplace that is unstable and not willing to hire new employees. The above, combined with aggravation and discontent with the status quo has erupted into full fledged chaos.

What people are forgetting is that London is just one of the many cities across Europe that is seeing an outbreak of violence due to the current economic problems. Countries such as Greece and Spain have all been affected by mass rioting. The question is, will this violence spread to other countries, including the US?

Look around the US, a country being affected by one incident after another: from the collapse of the housing and financial markets in 2008, to the debt crisis, on which the US nearly defaulted. Our handling of the debt crisis has now caused for the US credit rating to be downgraded. S&P is the same company that indifferently saw the housing market collapse in ’08 and said nothing.

The downgrading of the American government has sent markets into a tailspin, and nothing seems to be able to settle things down. The US is in a very sensitive state right now; there are talks that we may be heading toward a double dip recession. There seems to be nothing but doom and glum all around us.

Many are afraid that the US will erupt into chaos, as we are currently seeing on the streets of London. The poor, middle class and even the upper class are feeling the effects of this economy. All you need is one incident to ignite an inferno.

Can anything be done to turn things around? Yes.

We cannot let Washington get away with its handling of the debt crisis. They are now in the midst of creating another committee, which won’t solve or accomplish much, and will ultimately cut essential domestic and foreign programs.

The only people who can change our direction and hopefully continue to inject new life into this country are the youth. Some say that our youth are lazy and good for nothing; this is something I cannot accept, because some of the greatest minds and most talented individuals are members of our youth. Just look around: companies like Facebook, Google and others were created by young Americans; the upcoming presidential election – as the last one – will very much depend on who gets the youth vote.

America’s youth are heroes, leaders, doctors, philosophers, writers, entrepreneurs and innovators. They, more than anyone, can help restore this country to its glory. It’s the American spirit that drives these individuals to achieve success. America is the greatest economic center in the world, and we will continue to influence the world’s markets. What we need now more than ever is to unite as a people, a community and a nation. We must take our country back, and avoid the mayhem that has become the current norm on the streets of Europe.

First of all, I find it unfair that ch.info publishes these articles penned by an operative of the Democratic Party. If he would pen right wing thoughts, he would be fired by his boss. This isn’t journalism that you are syndicating. It is the Democratic Party’s talking points that the author is regurgitating like it’s toiras moishe mesinai. Knowing the author personally, I find it hard to believe due to his young age, that he’s ever accomplished anything in the private sector, and he’s merely a political intermediary feeding your website the democratic view. If you would publish thoughtful insights from a right wing author to balance the opinion editorials, it would be more fair. Unless, ch.info’s management are leftist and content with promoting their liberal ideals.

Getting to his main point, you can’t say that “the downgrade by the S&P is sending the markets in a tailspin”. If the S&P were merely propaganda, the markets wouldn’t buy into it. But they did! Because they know what’s going on. If ESPN would downgrade Michael Jordan, would that send the Chicago Bulls into a tailspin? Of course not! Likewise here. All the S&P has said is that the emperor has no clothes! The government just accumulates debt to satisfy their unemployed benefits bums’ base, and then printing money to repay the debt. That’s what’s truly sending the markets into tailspin.

Every time government cuts taxes, tax revenue increase. That’s because people start contributing to the economy because it’s always worthwhile working your tail off, if YOU’RE pocketing the money. People drop their ambition when they are increasingly working to promote Obama’s fantasies. So being that cutting taxes INCREASES IRS revenue, keeping taxes low is a no-brainer. To balance a budget YOU CANNOT SPEND MORE THEN YOUR REVENUE! It’s that simple. Avi; can you honestly say that the government is only spending what they bring in through taxes? If you can say yes, then the S&P has lied by downgrading. Sadly, they hadn’t lied to us. The US government spends well beyond it’s revenue, and this is irrefutable.

To add to Boruch’s excellent point, just consider this half-sentence from the article:

“…who are looking to lash out against a society that has promised them so much, yet in the end has left them with nothing.”

Avi, has it occurred to you that perhaps the problem is precisely the fact that their society “promised them so much,” rather than promoting responsibility? These riots are the logical end-point of entire generations being raised on “nahama de-kisufa” (bread of shame) – except without the shame, but rather the demand for it as a “right.”

    Shorter Avi Lesches:

    “Da Yoots are revolting.

    Da Yoots are our future.

America is still the greatest; Rah! Rah!”

My head is still spinning from trying to make sense of this sequence of non-sequiturs.

The only reason there were riots in the well-off ereas is because that’s where the money is. I can’t believe you’re trying to say these thugs were from these parts of town. In fact, they were indeed from the poorest parts of London.

To the Author: You rightly state companies like Facebook, Google and others were created by young Americans; also
America has youth’s that are heroes, leaders, doctors, philosophers, writers, entrepreneurs and innovators. They however are not the one’s rioting in the streets, they are the ones that believed in and followed a path that led them to success and the American Dream. They did not wait on a government handout and then tear up and burn down property that does not belong to them when they don’t receive handed to them all the benefits of those who have worked to achieve a good life. And G-d help us if the same uneducated youth (and adults) who voted in the last Presidential election putting into office the current President comes out in mass and does it again.
    We Need Moshiach Now!
