Speeder Mayhem in front of the Precinct

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — At approximately 8:00pm a speeding motorist caused a trail of wreckage and mayhem on Empire Blvd and New York Ave. The speeding motorist was driving a red Toyota and plowed through three cars before coming to a halt after being wedged under a van.

The red Toyota, driving east bound on Empire Blvd, operated by two Black males, apparently lost control of their vehicle, careening into oncoming traffic and hitting a blue Toyota which spun out and hit a Police van. Both the blue Toyota and the Police van were driving West bound on Empire Blvd.

Meanwhile the red Toyota, which was pushed back into the east bound lane, plowed into a parked black SUV, pushing it onto the sidewalk.

The speeding red Toyota finally came to stop after rear ending a parked 15 passenger van, pushing it about 20 feet and getting wedged underneath the rear bumper.

The resulting left 3 civilians and 6 Police Officers injured, with 2 of the civilians left pinned in the red Toyota.

FDNY and EMS responded and freed the patients, then transporting them Kings Count Hospital for checkups and observation.

NYPD Emergency Service Unit (Commonly knows as ESU), secured the scene, cleared it, and opened up for traffic.

    Now that this has happened right outside THEIR front door, maybe NYPD will take traffic accidents seriously round here & get DOT to put in a turning lane, speed bumps, whatever for Troy & Empire.

    empire has the most car crash they should make lower speed limets. ever year at less 4-5 car crash past month thaei been 4 car crash all on empire 2 were at empire and troy one which a lady got hit some were between empire and kingston and brookyn and then this on all in just one month is this is crazy they should be give more ticket out for speeding not parking then at least it help people also.
