Child Riding Scooter Struck By Car On Eastern Parkway Service Road Sunday
by CrownHeights.info
A child riding their scooter across the service lane was struck by a car and thrown to the floor Sunday. Hatzalah treated the child .
The incident took place at the corner of Eastern Parkway and Kingston Ave near the Bank of America when the boy, riding a scooter, attempted to cross on the crosswalk. A vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign and continued through the intersection, striking him and throwing him into the air.
A Crown Heights Shomrim volunteer witnessed the incident and immediately provided care for the child, calling Hatzalah and 911.
Thankfully the incident did not leave anyone badly injured but video of the incident shows just how important it is to be vigilant, even when you are crossing a street legally.
Wrong conclusion
Video of the incident shows just how important it is to stop FULLY at stop signs and observe the rules of traffic!
Honestly, there isn’t much a pedestrian can do when they are already in the cross walk if there are dangerous drivers. That is called blaming the victim.
Put the onus where it belongs – on the driver!
