Last night at approximately 5:30pm a very loud crashing sound followed by 3 more rocked the Empire Blvd. & Troy Ave. intersection. It was a collision between 2 moving vehicles one of which turned onto its side and smashed into 3 other parked cars.
Apparently one car traveling on Empire was hit by a car that ran a red light coming up Troy lifting it up onto 2 wheels and sliding against the cars parked closest to the intersection then fell completely onto its side, and came to rest on top of another parked car.
All drivers involved in the incident were taken away from the scene by ambulance with varying injuries. No Yidden were involved and there was no damage to Yiddishe property.
Just to note that this is the 4th serious accident with injuries in this intersection that we have reported on in the past. Accident 1 Accident 2 Accident 3.

Wow! bloody…but, wake up city as far as i recall this is not the first major accident at this intersection….maybe there is a problem with the light coordination…?

i was one of the first EMT’s on scene. when i arrived, the jeep/SUV/Pathfinder was literally on top of the parked car. the driver was sort of trapped inside the car. his door didnt open and it was very hard to safely remove him from the vehicle without causing him any further injury or Compromising his spinal cord.
But a speacial thanks goes to the AMR/Kingsbrook EMS911 ambulance for doing a great job and working together with us. t
he driver was then safely extricated from the vehicle and loaded onto the ambulance. no apparent injuries were found. as for broken bones or any other possible underlying injuries, thats for the doctors.
this was definitely a very interesting accident. (also, to webby: i dont know where the source of your info is from but the Driver told us that he actually rolled over, and not just went on the side. so i dont know which is true or not. just to point that out.).

If you will take a close look at the SUV you will see that the only damage to the roof of the car is on the front end portion, meaning that he only rolled a half of a roll, and more to prove my point is that there is no damage to the other side of the car.
The driver was probably so overwhelmed he wasn’t sure which way was up when you had extracted him from the car.

hey we had the same thing on the corner of eastern prwy and brooklyn ther was something wrong with the lights but the they fixed it and nathing relly happend since

pleez dont go telling everyone that u were the first responder at the scene. as i recall, i was the first on the scene and i established spinal stabilization. i worked together with the KBJ/AMR crew,which btw are AWESOME guys. it was a pretty exciting scene unfortunately. thanx for helping out ;-)

Wuz up with u guys aren’t you here to protect the neigbourhood? Now what, you chase ambulances? when you start playing ambulance workers even with your qualification of CFR or EMT whos going to cover you when there is a lawsuit? You can call yourselves good samaratans but when you have walkie talkies and jackets that show an organization you loose the status of good samaratans. Just giving you a heads up.

The 2 that are arguing about who got there first are good friends and they are kidding.
About the good Samaritan Law if I remember correctly it extend over to a volunteer organization because after all it is volunteer work, and further more these 2 responders live within ¼ of a block from where the accident accrued and had heard the bang that alerted them to what had happened, and they both work for reputable ambulance companies.
Thanks for looking out for our volunteers legal aspect of what they do, im sure they would take a cue from it and think about it next time…

2 things.
1 Their reputable ambulance companies will not back them if they do head stabilization wrong and kill the guy.
2. If someone on a vol ambulance service does something wrong he can still get sued. Ask any member of a vol. Amb. Corp. They all have insurance to protect themselves.
Oh and If a vol amb. is responding to a call and they have a crash and kill someone they are not responsible cause they are Vol. ?!?!?!? SUre they are responsible. They have the same laws as anyone else. Go read the NYS EMT guidelines. Not the medical issues the legal issues.

(obviously not if your a lawyer) do you or have you ever volunteered anywhere on an ambulance? what do u know about emt’s and the laws regarding? i mean, perhaps one can say that because you are a lawyer (if you truly are a lawyer)-(which i highly highly doubt) that you would know the laws regarding these issues… but according to what you have written here, you seem to be extremely uneducated and unintelligent within the scope of EMS.
if you need me to explain further, and why i think so please ask and i will do so. i choose to stop here cuz im not interested in writing more then i need to, but if i have to just let me know.

Its interesting to see one conversation here and everyone is in a totaly different mood with a completely different outlook. From making a joke out of the whole issue to going into a panic; I think this is a realy neat conversation.
