Child struck on his way to school

Today at approximately 1:45pm a kid was on his way to Oholei Torah on his bike and was crossing Eastern Pkwy. & Brooklyn Ave. and a Verizon van made a right turn and striking the kid and dragging him about 10 feet from the cross walk.

Hatzalah, FDNY and Police were on the scene. Hatzalah took the boy to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, and is reported to be back home already.

    It is against the NYS law to put up private information about a person (names) who has been injured or had a medical crisis. This is private information and cannot be broadcast online. Unless it is done with permission of the person involved. Being he is a minor you would need permission from his parents.The owner of the website can be fined upto $10000

    In the state of NY a scanner is illegal to some extent, and it is against the law to Inform and post Emergency calls from private non government funded emergency groups radio is legal in the state of NY. In some states it is against the law and carries a fine up to 10K, and jail time of 30 to 90 days.

    Scanners are perfectly legal FCC approved devices, you are aloud to monitor Police, Fire and EMS if so your heart desires (and what do you think you will see on a scanners box advertising it?). The only illegality with the scanner is that you’re not aloud to listen in your car (i.e. to go "buff calls").

    From what I have heard from the family is that he is very very lucky and he is doing very well, there were no serious injuries, other then some scrapes and soreness. BH he is fine.

    I heard they were all under presure because of a city ambulance that was trying to pass the verizon van.
