Intoxicated New Years Reveler Drives Up Albany The Wrong Way, Crashes Into Parked Bus

An intoxicated New Years reveler discovered the perils of driving drunk early Monday morning when he attempted to drive the wrong way up Albany Ave and crashed into a parked school bus.

Crown Heights Shomrim, who responded to the crash, released video showing the driver as he crossed Empire Blvd going north on Albany Ave. On that block he crashed into the first vehicle, a silver sedan, before continuing north over Montgomery Street towards Crown.

Surveillance footage from Albany Ave between Montgomery and Crown showed the moment the driver, clearly unable to drive appropriately, veered head on into a school bus, causing significant damage to his vehicle.

Crown Heights Shomrim responded quickly to the crash and found the driver, heavily intoxicated, still on scene.

The police were called, and despite a delay in response due to an overload on the 911 system, they arrived and arrested the man.
