Vehicle Overturns After Striking Pedestrian Island On Empire Blvd

A minivan that overturned on Empire Blvd in Crown Heights thankfully protected its occupants Motzei Shabbos, sending two people to the hospital without life-threatening injuries.
The Honda Odyssey minivan, being driven by an elderly couple, took a right turn from New York Ave onto Empire Blvd around 10:38pm and struck the raised pedestrian island, throwing the vehicle in the air and turning it on its side.
The two occupants of the overturned vehicle were removed from the car and treated for suspected spinal injuries by EMS before being transported to local hospitals.
