Vehicle Overturns On Utica Ave after Swerving Around A Pedestrian

A car driving on Utica Ave overturned Motzei Shabbos after swerving to miss a pedestrian crossing the street.
The incident occurred around 7:50pm Motzei Shabbos at the intersection of Utica Ave and Rutland Rd, when a white Nissan Sedan swerved around a crossing pedestrian and struck the pedestrian island.
The raised front of the vehicle hopped the curb of the island and struck the raised cement barriers placed to protect those on the island, propelling the car into a roll that ended on its top in the middle of the intersection.
Initial reports indicated that there were people trapped inside the car, but no serious injuries were reported.
