A drunk driver caused a major collision in the early hours of Sunday morning, totaling two cars and sending three people to the hospital.
The crash happened around 2:30am Sunday morning, after a man driving a white sedan on Eastern Parkway while drunk, ran a red light and hit another vehicle driving up New York Ave.
Both vehicles in the accident ended up on the Eastern Parkway main roadway, with debris scattered across all lanes of the street.
Initial calls to 911 and Hatzalah were confused, stating that there was a possible shooting that occurred on location, and that a motorcycle may have been involved. The crash in reality only involved only the two cars, and no shooting.
Crown Heights Shomrim responded to the crash, keeping the scene calm as Hatzalah treated the occupants of the vehicles, all of which were reported to be in light to moderate condition. The three occupants of the red car where taken to the hospital.
The driver of the white sedan was taken into custody by the NYPD.
