Hatzalah Aids Young Accident Victim
A young cyclist crossing Albany was hurt after he was struck by a van that was making a turn.
The collision occurred at around 4:50pm at teh intersection of Empire Boulevard and Albany Avenue. The victim, a pre-teen, crossed the street on his bicycle a green light and was struck by a commercial van that was making a right turn and knocked the kid down.
Passersby called Hatzalah who gave swift and expert treatment to the kid, then rushed him to the hospital. Many non-Jewish passersby commented and complimented Hatzalah for giving such care to the kid despite not being Jewish.
The van driver told CrownHeights.info’s photographer that cyclist came off the side walk very fast and that he didn’t have enough time to stop. Thankfully the kid did not sustain any serious injuries.
Hatzalah transported the victim to a local hospital for further treatment and observation.

Reality Check
A Jew does the right thing because that is what a Jew is. Some people get all excited about the rest of the world ‘admiring’ us and ‘liking’ us more because we helped them- it ain’t happening. Even if you haven’t read what it says in the Torah on this subject, all you need to do is open your eyes to see it so clearly. They don’t like Israel which bends over backwards to be a shining example and they don’t like us. Kindness and good deeds these days do not inspire admiration or stand as an example to the majority of the world- but it does make us G-dly people. We do it because of who we are – with no expectations from anyone else.
