Four Accidents in Fewer than Two Hours

Five people, two of them children, were injured in four different accidents in a span of two hours.

Back to back accidents on Eastern Parkway – one at the Brooklyn Avenue intersection and another at the Albany Intersection, were followed by two more an hour later on Empire Boulevard and Troy Avenue.

A Jewish woman was struck by an SUV on Empire and Troy and was transported by Hatzalah to a local hospital. At that scene another accident occurred where a small sedan was rear-ended by another SUV while passing the same intersection. Two children in the back seat of the sedan suffered injuries.

On Eastern Parkway eye witnesses said that one car attempted to make a left turn from Eastern Parkway on to Albany Avenue, colliding with an oncoming car. Both drivers were injured.

While that was happening another accident occurred at Brooklyn Avenue where an SUV attempted to make an illegal right turn from the middle lane and ran over a sedan in the right lane. There were no injuries in that incident.

  • i read what the Rebbeh said re Safety

according to the Lubavicher Rebbe (to increase safety against all harm) the top 3 concrete steps the public can do:
    1) Annual checks on Tfilin & Mezuzos -especially in Elul
    2) Jewish self respect, in the form of adherence to jewish-law in modesty
    3) Daily Chitas

as the Rebbe put it: “the above has an impact on the safety of the family & collective safety of the entire community”
-this is according to our Rebbeh, who seeks only our own best interest, we can trust him!)

  • No SUVs

I HATE SUVs…their drivers think they own the road and they
    can intimidate everyone else.

They are meant for the back roads of Minnesota, not the congested
    streets of Brooklyn!!!
