Unsafe Worksite Leads to Accident, 2 Injured Workers

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Two ConEd workers were injured this morning in an incident that can only be chalked up to unsafe work practice, at the fault of the workers themselves.

The incident occurred at around 9:30am on Brooklyn Avenue near Empire Boulevard, where the workers were servicing the utilities infrastructure when suddenly one of their hoses got snagged underneath a passing car and two workers got caught in its path, slamming one of them to the ground and swiping the other.

According to a homeowner who witnessed the incident he said that the workers were being unsafe by letting the hose fall out into the busy roadway and it was not the drivers fault.

Hatzalah was called and they arrived within moments, treated both victim and transporting them to a local hospital. Close to an hour after the incident police still hadn’t showed up.
