Boy, 7, Injured After Being Struck by Minivan

CROWN HEIGHTS — A seven-year-old boy was struck by a minivan and sustained injuries, while walking home from school today.

The incident occurred in the service road of Eastern Parkway at around 12:00pm – dismissal time at Oholei Torah, the school which the boy attends. According to the driver he was pulling out of a parking space when suddenly the boy darted out from between parked cars and could not stop in time.

The victim fell to the ground and suffered injuries including bruising and abrasions to his side and face.

The driver called Hatzalah who with the aid of the boys older brother managed to calm the hysterical victim enough to be able to stabilize him and get him into the ambulance.

Principals from Oholei Torah arrived at the scene as well and attempted to contact the victims parents, both of whom were at work. After a while they successfully got in touch and transported the boy to a local hospital, B”H his injuries are not considered serious  and his will make a full recovery.
