CHer –
Why does it matter if the driver was from the community? His actions were reprehensible. Sure, he was scared and/or worried and projected the aforementioned insofar as venting at the cyclist. But, it doesn’t matter — he should not have acted in such a manner, irregardless.
Road incidents and accidents are seemingly inevitable. But, the rising tensions in the Crown Heights are controllable. There is such an emphasis of “ahavas yisroel” and that is laudible. Yet, seemingly little attempt has existed inasmuch as co-existence.
No one wants a repeat of 1991. So, let’s be proactive!

I recognized you Sruli… Hatzlacha Rabba!

to concerned:
My question had nothing to do with his behavior, I’ll leave that for others to judge. It is natural (as discussed here in previous items) to be curious or more concerned for our own family, or extended family. I lived through the riots of 1991 (near Utica Ave at the time), and I am quite aware of the precarious situation – nothing here was intended as such.
