At around 7:15pm a minivan rear ended a SUV on Carroll St between Troy and Schenectady. The incident took place as a Jewish woman was double parked waiting for someone when all of a sudden she was rear ended by the minivan, both drivers got out and the driver of the minivan was being incoherent and had slurred speech. Police were called and did a field sobriety test which he failed and was arrested for DUI [Driving Under the Influence].

B”H There was no reported injuries.

    I’m surprised that, at the same time the police didn’t give the woman a ticket for double parking. even though I am guilty of that myself, I know it is wrong and can cause accidents – without the other driver being drunk. did’nt the woman even think that she might get a ticket????????

    Hello, didn’t you realize that it said "she was IN the car waiting for someone?" If you’re waiting in the car for a min or 2, you don’t usually get a ticket.

    u r allowed to double park on streets, not avenues, while u r in the car. U cannot double park and leave the car.

    That was once the reference to it, but DUI encompasses all types of substance abuse including drugs, medication and not just alcohol.

    i was by the scene.. i heard a big boom and i walk out side and there was a crash outside my house. it was very scary.
