Tragedy in Williamsburg: 5-Year-Old Killed in Accident
5-year-old Yoily Englander OBM was riding his tricycle on Heyward Street in Williamsburg, a meat delivery truck stuck him and he passed away at the scene.
NY Daily News Reports: A 5-year-old boy playing on his Brooklyn street was struck and killed by a meat-delivery truck yesterday, authorities said.
Joel Englender was riding a Big Wheels trike on the sidewalk of Heyward Street in Williamsburg at 5:48 p.m. when he zipped out onto the roadway. He was mowed down by a box truck pulling out of the driveway of a nearby meat factory.
The driver apparently didn’t see the boy, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
“It was a horrible accident. The driver said he never saw the kid,” said a factory employee.
No charges were filed.

Every day i m driving to work through Williamsburg . Williamsburg it’s only a place where you can see 5 year old kids running , riding bikes without guardians all the time .
I could make 100’s of pic but no need for that .If you go there you can see it every day on your own eyes .You will be in shock .Kids from 3 and up running between cars and no one asking where their parents. Last year few year old kid was killed there. I guess that wasn’t a lesson . Its like “they sending kids for death” and no one care about it. I understand that they have their own rules but come on , sending small kids on street by them self and they expecting nothing will happen is like staying in the rain and praying for umbrella.
Poor kids .
TRUTH
No – – -No. 3 that is NOT what happened. It is tragic beyond words but we don’t need to distort the truth – fool! Forensic evidence is pretty conclusive – hence no charges were filed. Trouble maker! It is a bitter beyond words rachmonus!

Excuse me #6, but for someone who wasn’t there u seem very convinced!! The family is a patient where I work and the mother WAS RIGHT THERE, WATCHED the truck push and run over HER SON!! She was outside with her son, he was in the driveway when the truck bursted out of no where! Yes, as #5 wrote, I see children daily unsupervised, they even come to our facility alone (as young as 6) or with a sibling not that much older than them, but in THIS case, the mother WAS RIGHT THERE to witness the accident. She was watching him!
