WILLIAMSBURG [CHI] — A 2-year-old toddler is fighting for his life after being run over by a 15 passenger van in Williamsburg, yesterday evening.

The toddler was in a stroller and being pushed by his 13-year-old sister at the intersection of Kent Avenue and Flushing Avenue, where a white 15 passenger van was making a turn and struck the child, running him over with the rear wheels of the van, and fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken by Hatzalah to Bellevue Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The public was asked to please say tehillim for Yosef Yitzchok ben Chava Yital.

The sister was unharmed. There have been no arrests. Police are looking for white 15 passenger van that fled the scene.

Police were searching for nearby surveillance footage that may have captured the vehicle. A source said the driver may be unaware that the child was struck.

It was one of those “Dollar Vans” driven by ghetto black or Spanish guys. Those guys are horrific drivers, I always see them cause tons of accidents.

Please get well little boy. As always Hatzalah do great job.

What a tragedy. But we have to learn from these unfortunate tragedies. That is “Do not push the stroller into the street first. The person pushing the syroller should go first, and than take the stroller with them. How many times do you see parents pushing a stroller in the street, without knowing if there are any cars coming or not. Enough said

first of all it could be other people! Don’t blame people like that, they probably say the same thing about us and I don’t blame them!!! How many times were you almost ran over by our community members?! See there you go! What you said it’s all based in ignorance! That’s very racist of you, be a good jew!!! I understand it’s very sad and I’m also very mad about the whole situation with the driver! IF he noticed that he ran over someone how can he live with himself?!
    Refua shlemah!!!
WE SHOULD SHOULD ONLY HEAR GOOD NEWS!!!

it does not matter if the stroller was being pushed by the parent in the street. In case you have not realized there is still a lot of frozen snow on the sidewalk which makes it hard for strollers to get through that… I myself still have trouble pushing a stroller sidewalk 2 weeks after the blizzard.. The driver is at fault no doubt
