Bicyclist Crashes Into Car – Witnesses Say Feigned Injury

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A bicyclist crashed into a minivan that was parking last night and sustained injuries. The accident took place on Montgomery Street between Kingston and Albany Avenue in front of a number of witnesses who said the cyclist crashed into the car intentionally.

Hatzalah was called and treated the victim, a Black man in his late 20’s, who at first resisted treatment from the Jewish volunteers, but once police officers arrived and told him it was ok he allowed them to treat him.

EMS later joined in and loaded the patient into the Hatzalah ambulance.

Eyewitnesses said that the van, driven by a Jewish man, was backing up into a parking spot when the bike crashed right into him without attempting to swerve or stop. While the victim was being treated a friend of his showed up and was taking photos of the scene and of addresses of houses in front of which the incident took palce.

    A clear example of the irrational, self destructive, and vindictive behavior familiar to many of us here, by those who wish to make trouble and cash in on the decent people around them. They are, of course, too afraid to try it on people who behave like them. It is difficult to describe such insanity which would motivate someone to damage their own bike in order to cause trouble and I did not believe that such a world existed until I moved here. I believe it now. I suggest that everyone from the civilized world spend six months living, walking, and driving in Crown Heights to fully appreciate how low a human being without self control can descend in the quest for attention and cash.

    the bike looks stolen. it’s too small to fit a 20 years old guy. so first he steals the bike , then he finds more ways to cash in money with it by trying to be involved with it in an accident and sue…..

    There’s a man on President street betw brooklyn & ny, looks early sixties, black, who refused to move his doubleparked car more than a few inches and watched carefully as I tried (successfully T”G) to get my car out of a space with almost no room to move, I could tell he was hoping to get his car scratched. A bystander who lives nearby told me that he often does this when women are trying to get their car out. Be careful, if someone refuses your request to move his car more than a few inches, honk your horn and attract attention. Don’t get get caught by this scam.

    one night i was walkin’ along utica and the scene was ambulances, police cars, fire trucks and a bicycle in middle of the street at six pm
    after the stretchered victim was loaded into an ambulance a livery lincoln drove through the crosswalk and dragged the bicycle forwards and backwards.
    fortunately there was police officer speaking with the driver of car that caused the accident who then moved the bicycle onto the sidewalk after most of the emergency vehicles left
    maybe you had to see it for yourself because no-one wanted responsibilty for the bicycle i guess

    this is a reacuring insident it happend with me too with a moter bike there conviently happend to be a friend of his there with a camera.not the bike never came in contact with my car,

    years ago in crown heights there was someone doing it to drivers all the time. He actually “bumped” into our car from behind on Crown St., only we were driving forward, hence we couldn’t have hit him. We called him on it and things were quiet for a while. Guess they’re back in business.
    If the cops care at all, they can bring investigators (or insurance appraisers) at any time (even when “victim” recounts scene) as both should be qualified to judge how impact could literally occur, what would be damage of impact vs. what alleged victim claims happened.

    I was once on the corner of Troy and East NY and saw a clear insurance job. People, Anash and tunkler alike, called 911 for the victim, who was lying in the intersection in (faked) pain from the (co-scammer’s) car that had hit him.

    EMS was not responding too fast as usual and I was about to call Hatzoloh for the tunkler “victim” until I took a second to realize the whole accident was staged.

    Whatever happened to forensics????

    The forensics people are supposed to come and gather clues as to what happened, by examining skid marks, damage patterns, etc.

    This is in order to figure out which “accidents” are really that, and which ones are really staged scams!

    Insurance companies: what’s going on?????

    Was the bike rider wearing a helmet?

    If not, why should anyone be able to be liable for any injuries above the neck?

    bike not illuminated, no vest on rider, not obeying traffic pattern rules now becomes responsibility of bicycle rider. anyway, u have insurance. thats why they call it an accident.
