Police Chase Ends in Crash and Foot Pursuit
CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A vehicle chase on rain slick roads ended with a 4 car crash, multiple injuries, two arrests, and two injured police officers.
The incident took place at around 10:30pm where police were chasing a car, who in an attempt to evade police pulled and illegal left turn from Empire Boulevard on to Troy Avenue and collided with two cars waiting for the light and a parked car as well.
Eyewitnesses said that before the cars even crashed the two passengers, a black male and female, jumped out of their car and ran. Police chased them, but thanks to the many Jewish bystanders who sprung into action the duo was apprehended and arrested.
Meanwhile at the scene FDNY EMS and Hatzalah treated two jewish woman in a van and a few others from a second car, as well as the police officers who were injured in the chase.
At the scene Shomrim were among the first to give emergency care until Hatzalah arrived and took over.

And Shomrim saved the day, as usual, with the help of the JEWISH public.
Lazy, useless cops can’t do a damn thing right. Did Simonetti come out & thank Shomrim? More likely he’s embarrassed by his own “professionals.”
WHERE IS THE NEW VAAD WE ALL HAD SO MANY HOPES FOR??? Why are they allowing this anti-Shomrim bias to continue?
Speak up, Tamir, Hackner & Brownstein!
Borng?
How boring would CH life be without our ever violent neighbors?
??!?!
why should shomrim give the police care when they’re busy towing away the shomrim van??!?!?!

Has anyone ever considered that the police see the comments here and maybe it stinks for them that when they do something right, they still get cynical remarks? It’s always easier to find the negative but also look for the positive, too. You wouldn’t want to help someone who always put you down no matter what.
On my street (north of Eastern Parkway), in my building and at the corner, things were getting hectic with drug dealing. After some calls, visits from the police to the building, I’m back to feeling safe again. On Friday, their presence picks up quite a bit.

Frankly, we’ve got better things to do than to worry about the cops’ feelings. If they can’t take the heat, let them get out of the kitchen – find some other job, rather than collecting salaries and pensions – out of our pockets – for doing nothing (or worse).
And by the way, your street is part of a different precinct – the 77th. Maybe indeed the cops there are better. But what’s that got to do with the ones in the 71st, which by all accounts is the armpit of the NYPD system?

Dear #6,
Good! I really hope the cops DO see these comments. Why should we ooh & aah because they sometimes do what they’re supposed to do…protect & serve??? Oh, maybe it’s because they generally don’t do their jobs. They’re too busy towing Shomrim or ticketing double-parkers before alternate side is over.
