5 Injured in Friday Morning Crash

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Five people were injured in a Friday morning, among those injured were an infant and a number of children. The incident took place at approximately 11:00am at the intersection of Utica Avenue and Eastern Parkway, where a left turning SUV broadsided a minivan with a Jewish family.

All three Crown Heights Hatzalah ambulances were dispatched to the chaotic scene, additional help was provided by a large number of Shomrim volunteers who were dispatched to the scene as well.

According to eyewitnesses the SUV attempted to make an illegal left turn to Utica and broadsided the minivan, which was traveling eastbound on Eastern Parkway, sending it careening into a traffic signal pole.

The incident was designated as a Mass Casualty Incident due to the large number of victims and their ages, who were all transported to local hospitals for treatment. BH there were no serious injuries reported.

    That is such a bad place for a yid to crash

    The reason why there is no turning lane/red light camera/gates on the sidwalk/no turns from utica eastern pkway etc. is becasue there used to be DAILY ACCIDENTS at utica and eastern parkway (especialy in Dinkins times)

    But if people turn anyways its ALOT WORSE

    To the city, Bloomberg and the TA: Make the subways in Brooklyn safe 24 X 7 to get more peple off the roads.

    Make bicycle riding safer. The city spends tons of $$$$ making bike lanes, then blocks them wit police cars, City vehicles, delivery trucks, etc. Bunch of hypocrites.

    Too many new yorkers drive like insane maniacs. Especially SUV drivers.
