Shliach Survives Explosion
Shliach to Toms River NJ, Rabbi Moshe Gourarie narrowly escaped serious injuries when flames engulfed a box truck next to his mini-van. The trucks 70-gallon fuel tank exploded Friday after electrical wires from a downed pole fell on the vehicle during a storm.
He had no insurance for the van and is now without transportation for his family to take them around and to and from school. www.chabadtomsriver.com/donate

worried
i feel so bad. maybe we should raise money for him.
sorry!
oh my gosh! He’s lucky!
WHY didn’t he have insurance? (Yes, I know he had liability!) I’m sure his Balabatim will help him out. If I have extra $$$ it will be to buy my Shluchim kids new, safe vehicles. Sorry, Rabbi G, I can’t help you, but I sure am glad to hear B”H you’re safe. That’s what counts.
laibel
thats not normal
............
just his car broke so y r u going myrable its not like he got hurt chas vshalom
Let-s go!
Obviously, the Eibishter wanted us to buy him a bigger and better, fully insured vehicle! He’s gonna need it for the Yomim Tovim, buying kosher food from the nearest place and for sukkos activities to say the least….
CN
Why does he need his own insurance? Let him claim from the insurance companies for the electric company and the owner of the truck.

People hasogos are so minimal…
Instead of going out in your OWN community and fundraising and doing peulos – why are you getting appeals put on all chabad websites. This is not where you future lies, its by you in New Jersy.

Check out this youtube video of the event. I know Rabbi G. We should all help him out.

Let’s point some things out here that are not clear in the article.
1. The shliach BY LAW must have auto insurance in the state of NJ. If he doesn’t he’s breaking the law. More than likely he has liability (which is required by law) but not collision (which he can waive in NJ if he owns the car outright). To say he doesn’t “have insurance” is HIGHLY misleading. In simple terms, liability covers people involved in the accident and collision covers the vehicles.
2. Regardless of the shliach’s coverage (or lack thereof), IF the other driver is found at fault, the OTHER driver’s insurance pays the shliach’s claim.
3. Of course, the timing could not be worse for this shliach, but at some point insurance will pay for his claims. If you want to donate, do so with the understanding that you are helping with short-term expenses like renting a vehicle until the insurance company totals his car (and without collision he won’t likely see much).

he had liability but not full coverage on a van with very high mileage.
there is no one “at fault” here as Hashem is the who caused the tree to topple and bring down the power lines and His insurance pays out through other means…
