At around 1:20am and loud screech was heard throughout the intersection of Crown and Kingston followed by the definite sound of metal crashing into metal. A black Nissan Maxima which was reported to be traveling at a high rate of speed down Crown St collided with a Buick Park Avenue which was going up Kingston Ave allegedly taking the red light according to witnessing bystanders.
A few Hatzalah members that were right around responded and offered to treat the 2 drivers who were both not Jewish, however they had refused medical attention. The Nissan ended up in the poles in front of Apple Drugs, who had them placed there due to an accident a number of years ago when a car went crashing right into the store.

I think that there SHOULD be crowds like this on all streets, even at 1 a. m. , walking with cell phones, keeping the hood safe. Perhaps an organized schedule of walking patrols? The CHCC should get it together and give pepper spray to the volunteers.
