Failure to Adhere to Stop Sign Causes Accident
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] – Two Cars collided on Lefferts Avenue near the Beis Rivkah Girls School, after a car making a right turn from Balfour Place crashed into a car traveling westbound on Lefferts Avenue.
Thank g-d there were no serious injuries reported, but Hatzalah did respond and check out one of drivers.
The incident took place today, Thursday at around 8:30am when a Nissan driven by a black woman drove through the stop sign at the intersection of Balfore Place and Lefferts Avenue and collided with a Chevy driving by Jewish man.

The problem is that after stopping at the stop sign there, you need to move pretty far into the street in order to see if anything is coming down Lefferts. They need to put a “no standing” at the 1st parking space on the corner of Lefferts & Balfour.

i cross that street everyday to go to school, and hardly any of the cars stop, even when i’m standing at the corner. its one thing not stopping at a stop sign, but its another thing when the pedestrian is waiting to cross and STILL the car doesn’t stop!!
How can you stop?
I once tried stoppping by that stop sign, only to get hunked from the car behind me!

if you put a no standing sign at that corner, that would be terrible for people living on that block. they would be losing another parking space which they are already short of. let them just put a traffic light.
