Boro Park Hatzalah Ambulance Involved in an Accident

This comes just a week after Crown Heights Hatzalah had an accident, yesterday [Tuesday] at around 2:00pm Hatzalah received a call to respond to a scene of a major accident, this ambulance [B-04] was parked on 15th Ave. and began heading there. When crossing the intersection of 15th & 44th, a car crossing the intersection did not yield to the ambulance, which had all its lights flashing and sirens blaring, and they collided.

The ambulance was just beginning to respond and thank g-d wasn’t going fast yet, still the car sustained heavy damaged, and both passengers were injured, and were reportedly released from a local hospital that night. The driver of the ambulance did not sustain any injury, and the ambulance sustained minor damage.

I witnessed in Fbush once a hatzala ambulance trying to switch lanes bacause all of the cars infront of him weren’t moving. As it switched to the left lane a car who I’m quite sure saw and heard the ambulance since it was beeping and had sirens sped down the left lane and the ambulance wacked the whole front bumper off the car. No one was injured and B"H a nother ambulance came to respond to the other guy’s call a min later. ( It occured on ocean ave and O. So B"H they have a hatzala station on ocean and N. I think pple need to start being more considerate. What if it was someone in their own fam C"V who needed that ambulanced and they were the person who caused the delay?????

to the hatzola member who wrote "bus" instead of ambulance. it’s not cool. and not everyone speaks the lingo.

besides being dangerous, and a chilul hashem, not to mention pikuach nefesh, it is about time that frum jews stop being idiots and start payihn gattention to what is going on around them. All to often i see either people who don’t know how to drive, or simply think they own the road.

PLEASE for the sake of pikuach nefesh, the lives of those who hatzala is going to help, and yours, when you see an ambulance, either get out of his way, or if they are crossing the intersection allow them to pass, nothing will happen if you wait for 30 seconds… your pizza wont get cold!

Rather than criticizing the few who don’t pull out of the way, I would like to commend the frum community, because most do pull out of the way quickly.

When I used to work for the City’s ambulances, I used to try as much as possible to drive through frum areas, (boro park, flatbush) because I knew that there most people would pull over.

I can’t stand people who focus on the few negative, instead of focusing on the majority who beahave positively.
