Tonight [Wednesday] at around 8:10pm 2 cars collided at the intersection of President Street and Albany Ave. one of the cars was being driven by a young Jewish girl from the neighborhood while the other by non-jew who was just over for a visit. Apparently one of the cars had a red light and didn’t notice and took the light, and the 2 cars collided.

The girl, who at first didn’t think she was injured but was seriously shaken up, began to experience chest pain so Hatzalah took her to Maimonides Medical Center, while the other driver didn’t sustain any injuries, Both drivers claim that they had the green light.

Later this evening the girl was released from the hospital and B”H is feeling fine.

    Actually the cars are a ’01 Toyota Avalon and a ’96 Nissan Altima.

    Judging by the point of impact it could have been any one of them that took the red light, or [lets try to be Melamed Zchus] the light may have had a glitch and shown green to both of them for a second. But who knows?

    Thank G-D NY State has a mandate for every driver to carry No Fault Insurance of at least $50,000 and in this case everyone’s ok, all we need to worry about is the drivers well being.

    Money can be replaced, life your really cant.

    And one more thing to the point of “moish’s” comment, the Rebbe once said on the topic of Hatzalah, if there would be “Veohavta Leriacha Comocha” then there wouldn’t be a need for Hatzalah.

  • Hilarious

    I could not stop laughing at the following irony:

    The individual who calls himself "knows his cars" spelled nearly every single car-related word wrong.

    tayota = Toyota
    nisson = Nissan
    centra = Sentra

    Thanks for making my day. How ironic!

    attention "hilarious" im glad you find your entertainment in something that makes other people cry and shake every time they see it. but as long as your laughing. right ?

    to Moshe ands webby I really liked your comments on “Veohavta Leriacha Comocha” but, webby I think that picture [the last one] should be placed with the other article, about vboting for Rabbonim.

    considerate person: I think you miss-undertood "hilarious". to me it seems that he finds the person spelling hilarious, not the accident. So I don’t understand what you’re going on about.

  • I was there.

    Thank you Shomrim for being the first at the scene, before Hatzoloh and before Police.

    They closed the road, helped the accident victims until Hatzoloh arrived and assisted with the police reports. They were there from the very begining until the very end. I was very impressed with the way they handled the situation.

    I’ve read about the Shomrim many times on this website but was never the type who looked for the action so I’ve never seen it first hand. This time I was there, just after the accident and went to help, but the Shomrim already had the place under control.

    I was very impressed. As a resident of Crown Heights, I’m proud to have a team like this amongst us.

    all of u guys think its funny, but the fact is, none of u were there to help….in the future, when someone g-d forbid experiences a car crash ppl should run to help instead of writing stupid comments on a website…..

  • Hilarious

    sr41: Thank you for being smart enough to rea my full post enough to get it. Just to clarify, it wasn’t his spelling that was hilarious as much as the ironly that he calles himself an expert on cars and then spells car names wrong.

    Kudos!

    to hilarious:

    you were making fun of his spelling!!! by the way an israeli can be a car expert but not know how to spell…..so tell me why is that ironic?????????
