Yungerman Hit Crossing Eastern Pkwy

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — At about 9 O’Clock this morning a yungerman crossing Eastern Pkwy was hit by a car. The Yungerman was leaving Chovevei Torah on Eastern Pkwy, between Albany and Troy Ave, and crossed in middle of the road. The car was driving westbound and hit the Yungerman in the left turning lane.

Hatzalah responded and treated the patient on the scene. FDNY also responded. He is BH OK, Hatzalah transported him to Kings County Hospital for observation.

    maybe ppl should of crown heights should try to encourage ppl to use the cross walks i see bocherim always doing this on eastern parkway and it is not safe and a very bad habit here in NY

    B”h he is fine, but we should all cross at the light- that’s what its purpose is. To save a few seconds in life isn’t worth it.

    It should be stressed, throughout the day schools and yeshivas, the importance of crossing ON the sidewalk and not in the middle of the street.

    but please we have enough tragedies chas vishalom we dont want another one. so please every one be careful and take the extra few steps to the trafic light.theres a famous saying:
    better to loose one minute of ur life then ur life in a minute.

    stop crossing in middle of eastern parkway!!!
    it used to be a commercial in israel who was saying:
    “you better lose a second in your life than your life in a second!”

    why can’t people learn NOT TO CROSS IN MIDDLE OF EASTERN PARKWAY. it is poshut – sakonas nefoshos to cross in the middle. we have crossing lights. use them. they are there for our safety. B”H this yungerman is okay. but chas v’sholom…………..

    And don’t forget how awful the poor driver must feel! Baruch Hashem, the bochur is probably AOK, but the poor driver is probably going to be haunted by this for a long time, no doubt.
    This is every driver’s nightmare!
