5 Car Eastern Parkway Smashup Injures 10

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — An illegal U-turn appears to be the cause of a 5 car destruction derby on a very wet Eastern Parkway. At around 6:00pm today eye witnesses said a black Ford Crown Victoria attempted to make a u-turn or simply lost control on Eastern Parkway between Kingston and Albany, and went plowing into 3 cars on the opposite side of the parkway, and then was rammed by an oncoming gray Dodge Magnum.

Large amounts of Hatzalah, EMS and Rescue personal responded to the scene and began treating all the injured. A total of 11 passengers and drivers were in the cars. One of the drivers was trapped inside his vehicle, and firefighters were required to get him out.

Out of all the passengers 6 were transported to Kings County Hospital, 3 by Hatzalah and another 3 by Kingsbrook EMS and FDNY EMS, with varying degrees of injuries, the worst being a facial injury to a child, but thankfully none were life threatening, 4 other passengers were checked out at the scene and did not require additional medical attention.

After transporting all the patients, NYPD ESU cleared all the cars from the road and reopened the parkway. One of the drivers got locked out of her car amid all the excitement and Shomrim members that were on scene assisted her with unlocking it.

Once again a great display of Kiddush Hashem by Crown Heights’s Volunteers, Hatzalah and Shomrim, treating and helping in any way they can.

    I’m always very punctual in picking up my son from school. Today I was running 10 minutes late and that’s the street I use to drive back home. I saw as the cops , ambulances , and firemen came down Eastern P’kwy . Hashgacha Protis why I was running 10 minutes late !

    there didnt seem to be any jews involved. i guess that is what the statment at the end of the article about the kiddush hashem, that hatzlah and shomrim all treated non jewish victims.

    G-d bless Eastern Parkways faithful UPS guy TERRY, he was certainly first to respond and call 911, I was there to see it. While everyone was initially paralyzed with shock following the DEAFENING crash of shattered glass and blown tires, Terry didn’t miss a beat.

    And needless to see, first to respond to the call was obviously Hatzalah, and although there were no Jews involved they brought out all 3 ambulances – wow, I was impressed!

    hi , thank you for your help with me and my family im the little girl who was in the black and silver magnum. i was injured bad i broke my jaw and got stitches in my lip. I also lost one tooth and 3 were pushed back. Thanks to the EMS workers who help out alot. My family and i thank you for all your help and support.
