10 Year Old Girl Struck and Seriously Injured in Accident
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A ten-year-old girl was struck and seriously injured earlier today, Wednesday, when she darted out from in between two cars. The incident took place at around 3:30pm on East New York Avenue between Brooklyn and Kingston Avenue.

Construction workers witnessed the accident and alerted Aron Hershkop, a member in Shomrim, to the scene who immediately called for backup and medical assistance, then began treating the victim who had suffered light scratches to her face, but the serious injury was a angulated fracture to her left leg. While waiting for an ambulance Mr. Hershkop kept the victim from moving and calmed her.
FDNY EMS and Hatzalah arrived on scene and began treating the victim, splinting her leg then transporting her to Kings County Hospital.
Bystanders said that they had observed the group of school children, boys and girls on their way home, throwing stones at a house on the block, then running away out onto the street, neighbors complained that this is daily activity for these children, all of whom live nearby, and each day that no one got hurt was a miracle.
great job
Another Kiddush Hashem!!
duby
dude,
your pictures are way too graphic. Even if its a “goy” i think a certain amount of respect should be given to a victim and their privacy.
very very uncool.
a fan of aaron
aaron its about time you join hatzalah!! good work, keep it up!!!
Keep it up
the article says: “ Aaron hershkop a member of shomrim” while shomrim is a great organization and being a member of shomrim is a excellent thing, I would like to say that Aaron is also one of the shomrim co-ordinators who gives his time blood and money to shomrim!. May Hashem bless Aaron and the rest of Shomrim with a ksiva v’chisms tova and a Shana tova umetuka! And like I once heared someone say in Shul “ if heaven forbid you get hurt or mugged or you are in a bad situation, pray that there is a Hershkop around b/c they will always be there to assist you, and many times even save the day”.
Confused
one dumb question,,
as I read the article, my heart went into my kishkes as I thought about which family had to deal with such tzorus before the yomim noraim. Is it possible in all sincerity that in the article you tell us immediately, so we dont have to look into pics, whether the article is about aineh fun unzereh, or not?

oh my gosh those are awful pictures! :(
love u guys
great job shomrim! Once again leading the way in goodness and kindness. Also big time sanctification of Hashem’s name, which we all know is one of the greatest things a Jew can do as stated in Rambam.

I don’t see why you felt it necessary to add the gratuitous comments about kids throwing rocks and then running into the street.
-innocent question-
does this mean that they learned their lesson and won’t be throwing rocks anymore?
Uch un Vei
At ten years old they are starting already,,,,, Uch un Vei

Why do we need to see the pictues of a misfortune on a sight like this. It is sensational, but is this the way of kedusha. Tell me if there is anything positive about presenting pictures of this nature.
Show us the pictures of kedusha, which will influence us for the positive and for good and promote simcha – THAT is the avoda of the day (and it’s not me saying it – the Rebbe said it.) Emphasizing these kind of things, and especially in pictures, dosn’t promote people to think good and it will be good etc. It brings out the more depressing gashmiusdike things of life. What’s the benefit to know all these details.
May Hashem give us all a healthy, happy New Year with brochos and all good.

I have lived in the area for nearly 3 years now and whenever I am home during those hours I hear the kids on ENY Avenue throwing rocks at the metal sidings on that block, screaming and acting like hooligans
mom
the mila of the photos is that it will mechanech children to be careful about crossing and playing near traffic
Poor child
Is that your conclusion on the situation? The kid got hit by a car because she threw rocks. Would you have added the little snippet about the rock throwing if it was a jewish kid? I think not. I do not think the bit about rock throwing was pertinent in this instant, and came across in very bad taste. We all live in the same community and those school children are coming home from school just like our children. This is a mother’s nightmare , whatever color. Your blatantly racial insinuation is typical. I look forward to more of your little insights.
Maybe they will learn there lesson
Maybe they will learn there lesson and stop throwing rocks like little terrorists

i hate to say it(not),but serves her right. whats goes around comes around…. and duby, if u dont like the pics dont click on the “extended article” button. you already know what your gonna see just by the headline of the article.
CN: the gratuitous comment was meant to show how they are chayos even at this young age!
Annoyed
What is wrong with all you people that all you do is sit and complain. Its an article not controversial or anything yet you still manage to find problems. People please get a life!
get your head out of the ground
If we don’t write (that they were throwing rocks) then it never happened.
Thank you CH.INFO for reporting the news and not making the news.
Holding your hand to your face does not make you invisible (I know thats what you may have thought when you were 2 but now, time to grow up).

ok will you all just zip it. this is a ch news site and yes it is part and parcel of the neighborhood. I found it interesting and informative and I am glad to see hatzolo helped out as did shomrim and all ended well.
And these kids don’t cause much problem they are 10 yr old and play around like our 10 yr olds more or less. Just be nice and have a super new year.
stop complaining!!!!!!
why is everyone complaining abt these pics… there is nothing personal or private abt them nor are they graphic. actually u cant really see much of anything!
Concerned!
Thank you to our FDNY Firemen, FDNY EMS and Hatzalah for always being there when people need help!

Here’s the thing. People who had not learn to cross the street, will learn it right! And they will remember next time.
