CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Jewish woman lost control of her car and went plowing into 4 parked cars on East New York Avenue. The incident took place at around 8:00pm, between Troy and Schenectady Ave.

The driver said that she attempted to press the brakes which failed and the car began to accelerate sending her smashing first into a mini school bus, where she left her fender and part of her passenger door, then into a Crown Victoria, and a Astro van which was pushed into another sedan, there it finally came to rest with the engine finally dying.

Car Smashes into 4 Parked Cars after Brakes Fail

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Jewish woman lost control of her car and went plowing into 4 parked cars on East New York Avenue. The incident took place at around 8:00pm, between Troy and Schenectady Ave.

Nearby Shomrim members heard all the crashing and went to investigate. Upon seeing the wreckage and the injured women, they called for Hatzalah and began treating the woman who sustained injuries and was transported by Hatzalah to Kings County Hospital.

    From the looks, it looks like a new Toyota Camry, the amount of rigorous testing that goes into these cars before they hit the road is so extensive as to avoid something of this nature, I’m thinking along the lines of what “Curious” wrote.

    NO it was not her fault. She was driving the car of someone else. She was not aware that the person had bad brakes Probably neglected to replace the brake pads.

    it was her own car. the brakes failed. her air bag deflated and saved her life. she’s fine baruch hashem with a broken leg. she’s a very cautious driver, did not lose control tried her hardest to avoid hitting anything and went into a pole on purpose instead of people.
