CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — In the last month alone we have reported 3 accidents which had taken place in the intersection of Crown Street and Kingston Avenue, but when ‘accident hotspot’ is mentioned most immediately think about Empire and Troy. Though it feels like it’s changing.

This morning at around 7:00am two cars collided in the same fashion as the last 3 accidents, where one car took a red and they slammed into each other in the middle of the intersection. A minivan driven by a Jewish driver collided with a sedan driven which was operated as an illegal ‘dolla cab’.

Crown and Kingston the new Accident Hotspot?

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — In the last month alone we have reported 3 accidents which had taken place in the intersection of Crown Street and Kingston Avenue, but when ‘accident hotspot’ is mentioned most immediately think about Empire and Troy. Though it feels like it’s changing.

Both drivers were BH not injured, but a passenger in ‘cab’ sustained an injury to his arm.

The minivan was traveling on Kingston and as the light was turning yellow he stated that he rushed the light, while the ‘cab’ claimed he had a steady green.

Shomrim members were first on scene and assisted police and Hatzalah with securing the scene and the fluid spill up until fire department arrived and took care of the scene.

this is the corner where I live… what I notice constantly that people cross this corner not carefully, often ignoring traffic light and running through in not designated places. The most dangerous spots are those that seem very quite but may have a sudden speeding car or motorcycle.

Please, just remember that this is a bad corner and pass it by more carefully.

if it’s become a ‘hotspot’ it’s probably b/c drivers wanna catch a succession of lights, which done co-ordinate with this corners lights.

I just saw a city bus impatiently edging forward to race from the light when it turned green at this corner. The light is very long here, but that’s no excuse for lousy driving.

  • You don-t need to be a mechanic to know.

The spill is from the car, the rad…etc…come on !!

there is quite a delay on that corner with the light recently. There is some time when all is red! So people don’t know if the light is working or not, and just decide to give in and go.
Maybe if the light were fixed, it would solve some problems.
