Cyclist Crashes into Car, feigns Injuries Suggested by Instigator
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Jewish woman driving a minivan down Union Street was struck by a Black male riding a bicycle on Brooklyn Avenue and coming from the opposite direction of traffic from President Street, the cyclist struck the minivan on the side right over the rear tire.
More pictures in the Extended Article.
The woman stopped her car and got out to check on the cyclist, who witnesses say got up and was walking around and was just about to get back on his bike when another motorist, a Black male, got out and told the cyclist to call 911 and report it and go to the hospital.
Police and EMS responded and filled out an accident report then transported the patient to a local hospital.
This incident strongly emphasizes a bias towards Jewish people in our community. When an outsider stops his car and makes it a point to convince a person he is injured and to call 911, wasting valuable police and medical resources, to later go and make an insurance claim, all because the driver was Jewish.

This is just pathetic….
Anytime you get hit by a car you should call the cops and E.M.S. It doesn’t god damn matter what religion the driver is,
common stop turning everything into a religious thing jeez.
Oh and I can’t believe you said a women in a minivan was hit by a bicycle…
I see this from both the outside and the inside, this is a 2 way street PEOPLE….
STOP BEING RACIST!!!!!
I hate reading this stuff every single day, it’s so frustrating to see how stupid people can be, and how closed minded.

I would like to know why the cyclist is not on a board and collar, is that because the EMT’s are white and the patient Black?
Witness
Pentax, did you not take the time to read the article?
I was there and I saw it happen, the black guy on the bike was riding on the sidewalk, which bikes aren’t allowed to, and THE BIKE crashed into the car, and if that wasn’t enough he left a nice dent in the back of the car marking where HE struck the car.
I saw the woman get out and ask him if he is ok and he said he was, and just as he was about to continue riding the black guy you see standing near the stretched in the first picture got out of his car, the gray infinity, and I heard him tell the guy on the bike that its a jew and he should lay down on the street and call 911.
I dont know about you, but THAT is racism along with insurance fraud and g-d knows what else.

Didn’t read any of the comments very well: no names!
The bicyclist thinks all Jews are rich. Not racism-richism.

To Witness:
If what you say is true then ok.
BUT: IF the part you “heard” saying “It’s a Jew” then sit down is not true then I have to say this:
Many people when involved in a car accident are in too much shock to feel if they are even injured.
Oh and yeah riding on the sidewalk is ILLEGAL past 12 years old, we should pass that message around both the Jewish and Non-Jewish communities, it seems nobody knows about it.
Almost everyday in my neighborhood (Midwood) I have to dodge Yeshiva kids
(wearing black hats, so they are over 12) from hitting me with their bike.
And it has happened that these kids going on Ave j not caring about other people have hit strollers with babies inside.
One more thing,back on topic…
Would you handle a normal car accident
differently if it was between you and a Jew or between you and a Black man?
bon
there is another angle to this which has nothing to do with jews or non-jews. it’s to do with the black attitude of taking other peoples money whenever they can instead of making it themselves.
i guess you could argue that jews also do this, just they call themselves lawyers… but that’s another story!

My son got ticketed in Crown Heights for riding his bike on the sidewalk. Will this person be ticketed?

Riding in Traffic
Use bike lanes when available, except for access, safety, turns, etc.
NYC Traffic Rules and Regulations, Section 4-07 c3: Bicyclists must ride on the street, never on the sidewalks (unless under age 14 and the bicycle must have wheels less than 26 inches in diameter).
NYC Traffic Rules and Regulations, Section 4-12 o1: Riding is permitted on the main and local streets throughout the City even when no designated route exists. Riding is prohibited on expressways, drives, highways, interstate routes and thruways unless authorized by signs.
Bicyclists must obey all traffic signals, regulating signs and pavement markings. Must come to a complete stop at stop signs and red lights.
NYC Traffic Rules and Regulations, Section 4-12 p: Bicyclists must always ride with traffic, never against it. Keep right when possible. However, when the road is narrow and cars cannot safely pass, you have the right to ride in the middle of the travel lane. You also have the right to ride all the way to the left on a 40-foot wide one-way street.
Bicyclists must not ride more than two abreast. Must not attach the bike to another vehicle being operated on roadway.
Ride predictably. Use hand signals, ride in a straight line and do not weave in and out between parked cars. Riding predictably reduces your chances of a crash with a motor vehicle.
Bicyclists must always have at least one hand on handlebars. Must ride on a permanent seat. Must have feet on pedals. Cannot wear more than one earphone attached to a radio, tape player or other audio device while riding.
Establish eye contact with drivers. Seeing a driver is often not enough. Make sure drivers see you before executing a turn or riding in front of a turning car.
Look for drivers in parked cars. Being aware of drivers in parked cars can prepare you for the possibility of a car door being opened in your path.
Be visible. Wear brightly colored clothing for daytime riding. At night, use reflective materials and lights.
Motorists: $115 fine for parking, standing or driving in a bike lane.
See tips for safer travel (pdf) for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists on City streets.
Safety Regulations
Required Equipment
A horn or bell.
Working brakes.
A white headlight and red taillight for use from dusk to dawn.
Reflective tires or spoke reflectors and other reflective devices.
A bike must carry only the number of persons for which it is designed and equipped.
Children on Bicycles
A child must be carried in a properly affixed child carrier.
Children under age one (1) cannot be carried on a bicycle.
NYC Administrative Code Section 1238: Bicyclists under age 14 must wear an approved helmet.
Commercial Cyclists
The business must be identified on the bike by name and number.
The operator must have the business’ name and the operator’s number located on his/her upper body apparel.
The operator must carry and produce on demand a numbered ID card with the operator’s photo, name, home address and business’ name, address and phone number.
The business must maintain a log book of all operators and trips.
The owner of the business must file an annual report with the New York City Police Department.
THIS SHOULD BE POSTED ON CITY STREETS. MAYBE SHOMRIM CAN POST IN CROWN HEIGHTS.

Why do you post things like the words that do not not need repeating from the poter called “Pentax”? First of all, the word “God” should be capitalized. Second of all, the curse word after is not something aaJew or anyone else should be using. Also, what is the word-“jeez”-is that a reference to idolatry?

Pentax- i think wat you are saying is WONDERFUL and if more people had an attitude like that- they wouoldnt always blame black people for EVVERYTHING (im not saying that its always not their fault -sometimes it is!)
Yanky
As an avid bicyclist, I respectfully disagree with your assessment of the situation.
Minor accidents with bicycles and motor vehicles tend to go un-reported and many drivers are completely unaware that bicycles have equal rights in using the streets. Even riding with caution, I’ve had many near collisions with cars crossing bicycle lanes, turning and merging into lanes.
More driver caution and awareness is in order.
(BTW, I think I have another topic for an op-ed!)

He should pay for the car damages.

I have to agree with Pentax… making a bias claim in a situation that is of little significance, takes away from REAL cases of violent bias. This article is making me think twice about all the other “bias” articles I have read on this site

No he will not be ticketed, a cop cannot give a ticket like that without witnessing the violation.
SAW IT ......HEARD IT!!!!
Okay, I happen to have been the witness to report to the police. The bike hit the car, he got up, walked around, was told by that black guy in the tie to sit down and say he was hurt. I actually heard him say the words “ its a Jew, your hurt!!” He then said I’m not moving untill this is over.
The black guy did not have any complaints of being hurt untill this ….came along!!

I witnessed similar insurance fraud myself on the corner of Schenectady and East New York. The driver in that staged accident was not one of ours and the victim was also of Sharptonian hue and moral integrity, but what makes this particular incident biased is the statement of the driver of the car.
And why do you let the cheap, broken Pentax spew his out of focus comments all over the site? He was already exposed as a teenage wannabe buff who litters all over police related sites!
Kop Doktar
Pentax, A Person and Near CH – Now I understand you all. It is really so simple! Just – blame the Jew! Always. Or else you are a racist. If the article gives the impression that it was someone else’s fault – it’s bias. There’s nothing wrong for you to think that way, as long as you carry around that big chip on your shoulder. I suggest therapy.

same thing happened to me
out of town,
nothing to do with being jewish…
Come on !
I hope the woman wasn’t hurt after being “STRUCK” by the cyclist.

You can not force anybody onto a board and a board is used only if the EMT’s suspect any spinal cord injuries. seeing how there was no cdamage to the hood of the vech and the person wasn’t on a board will say the EMT’s performed a assesment and ruled out any head neck or back injuries. Again this website is instagating the so called hat ebetween the jewish community and the black community. This website should be ashamed of the negative inputs that it’s members are posting and it should monitor all posting for any negative views from anybody

sTOP tHE hATE:
contrary to that false little bubble you live in, the world had negativity, if this site didn’t post those so called ‘negative comments’ it would still exist.
to the heart of the matter though, this isnt any instigation, its a fact, racism exists as we clearly see from this particular incident.

Three cheers for Kop Doktar! It’s about time someone responded to the self-hating grasshoppers who keep pounding their chests trying to prove they can be more gentile-like than any gentile. Good to see someone with a brain on their shoulder (instead of a chip).
Old Timer
Rabboisay, The concept of “dan l’kaf zchus” applies only to yidden.
Whenever there can be two versions of an event, we must give our fellow yid the beneficial version. This does not apply to goyim.
Certainly if there is a “contest” between a yid’s version and a goy’s, the scales tip in favour of our brother/sister.
Pentex, I will quote you, “Shut up”.

If the ticket is still unsettled, your son can challenge the jurisdiction of the NYPD in giving the ticket and probably get let off. Unless it was issued by the Environmental Control Board.
Medical guy
To sTOP tHE hATE:
As a retired EMT I don’t remember hearing that one can rule out spinal injury without an x-ray- even a doctor. According to the text, any trauma situation, including a fall off roller blades, requires full spinal precautions. The mechanism of injury here is something which can damage the spine/head.
just wondering!
omg why are you making such a big deal of this?
and if you look at the picture i dont see how the car could have hit the black!
Londoner
I witnessed a car knocking a cyclist (on the sidewalk) over – the bike was smashed and I think the cyclist injured — the driver was Asian.
The cyclist called the police – the police looked at the car and spoke to bystanders – the police informed the cyclist he had no case — and — the driver that he could press charges against the cyclist for minor damage to his car!
Maybe it’s not so bad here!
Pentax
ok let me try to make myself clear once and for all….
I am not saying there is no racism towards Jews. There IS racism towards Jews. Now get ready for this…..there is also racism on the Jewish side towards Blacks, don’t even try to say there isn’t- I’ve been in Crown Heights and in homes so many times and I listened to the comments. Now I don’t care why you some of you might hate them but you do and you need to admit that.
Now to the dirty part….
You HAVE to stop saying everything is racism….OK!!! Again I am not saying that there are no attacks that are toward Jews because of hate, but after reading this website for about 1-2 years I can safely say just about EVERY story where a Jews vs Black crime occurred the author or comments were screaming about racism, and that it should be labeled a bias crime.
When there is a mugging or a robbery of some sort it’s NOT because you are JEWISH it’s because you have what they want. If the guy next door who was a Muslim had it too and his security system was worse the thief would go to him.
I hope you people understand what I am trying to say because I am sick and tired of hearing everything being a racial issue and this website building on that fire.
Stop the Hate
To Medical Guy
Guess you never taken a pt on a board to a hospital then because when u take the pt to the hospital the MD comes out palpate the neck and back and removes the pt from the board without having x-rays preformed on the pt. cheif complaint indicates what type of action an emt or paramedic takes.
BTW hate is taught to our youth they arent born with it (not directed @ you medical guy)
racic
i think this argument is a waste of time because we all know the shvartser(black man) did it on purpose no matter what you say because inside we are all racic no matter what collor or race you are inside we hate the other race

i just think that if everyone would keep their moth shuts ON BOTH SIDES – meaning to stop making such a big deal about everything maybe these things will come to a stop IY”H and Old Timer- i totally and completely agree with you – but even if you dont have to be dan lecaf zechus dont you at least have to TRY and look at the other persons side of the story?!?!?AND MAYBE JUST MAYBE EVRYONE CAN GET ALONG THE BLACKS AND JEWS BECAUSE ITS A VERY VERYVERY BIG CHILULL HASHEM WHEN A non-frum person comes on this site (only the comments – not the articles) AND I JUST THINK ITS TIME FOR SOMEONE WITHOUT A BIASED OPINION SHOULD FIX UP ALL THIS GARBAGE THATS GOING ON -MOSHIACH NOW!
