Accident on Lefferts and Albany

The three cars involved; far right [the van], far left [the SUV] and right in front [the van]

Yesterday [Tuesday] at the intersection of Lefferts Ave. & Albany Ave. there was an accident involving 3 cars, one of them were parked. What apparently happened was the driver of the GMC, who was unfamiliar with the treacherous streets of Crown Heights, had been driving up Albany Ave. and not noticing that the 2 way traffic ends at E. New York Ave. and continued driving up. Now being she was going the wrong way there was no traffic signal pointing in her direction at the Lefferts Intersection, and didn’t know to stop, so an oncoming van driven by a Jewish man from the neighborhood had managed to stop just as he hit the side of her SUV, which sent the SUV out of control, then slamming into a parked car, seriously damaging it.

Hatzalah responded and took the driver of the van to KCH for observation, while the passengers of the SUV refused medical attention.

    umm excuse me!!!??
u better be careful wat u say.
perhaps the sign was blocked b/c of the snow, or the window was a bit foggy b/c of the ice? ever thought of that?
i think ppl should choose their words wisely.

Well just to clarify, I stated in my article that the woman being unfamiliar with the roads here in Brooklyn she simply made a bad mistake which ended in a bad crash.

This could happen to anyone (trust me ive seen Shluchim driving the wrong way up Brooklyn Ave. [not sure if it was a mistake]). So everyone just chill out. :-)

    Happy Chanukah! And be safe!

Men have alot more fluidity at handling a vehicle, then do women. I’d say that is undisputable.

I dont know of insurance being cheaper for women, but I dont see why it would. They dont drive like men, which has two effects
    a) not as good (higher insurance)
    b) more careful (cheaper insurance)

I think it should be the same quote for the both.

one more thing. I was in the car when my brother drove up that very same block! It’s not common to bump into a two-way-dead-end-one-way. mistakes happen to everyone.

chill ppls, no need to jump down each others throat’s. sounds like a genuine mistake. but yeh, it’s def a misconception that women are better drivers!

    driversED:

sorry to let you in on news that might insult your comment but women are defenitely more carefull in driveing as opose to men, i’ve been driveing ror 14 years already and ever since i got married i like my wife to drive better, it’s just simple they are more carefull nothing to get insulted about this story is however quite unusual ussually crashes and all those things happen with men…………..this is unusuall.

hey, just take a look driversED and anyone who thinks we girls are saying what we are saying just to defend ourselves………..even the men agree, it’s just common sense!

(as I always say, common sense is most uncommon!!)
