Two Car Accidents over Shabbos
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Over Shabbos and Motzai Shabbos there were three accidents in Crown Heights, the most serious of which took place just as Shabbos ended, where an Israeli Bochur crossed Eastern Parkway and was struck by a passing livery cab, causing injuries and was transported by Hatzalah to Kings County Hospital.

Reports from witnesses said that the Bochur did not cross in the crosswalk, rather in the middle of the parkway. Other Bochurim noted that this isn’t the first, or the second, time that such incident happened to Bochurim crossing the parkway.
Another incident took place on Brooklyn and Eastern Parkway on Friday night when a car came speeding down Brooklyn and apparently lost control and slamed into a parked minivan on his left, then ricochet to his right and struck another minivan pushing it all the way underneath the SUV that was parked in front of it. All the cars appeared to have belonged to Jewish resident.

The principals from all schools on eastern parkway ( Chovevie Torah , Oholei Torah and teh kvutza ) that it is a SAKANA to cross in middle of teh parkway. how many more incidents will it take till they get it thru thier head. Parents tell your sons to leave a few minutes early to yeshiva and cross by the crosswalk than running thru the parkway . IT IS NOT SAFE .

my heart goes out to him, being away from his parents,Hope the bochur is feeling better.He should have a refua shleima and a speedy recovery!! That is the main thing, not why did he not cross at the crosswalk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard that the Taxi was speeding, even though the Bocher should of crossed by the corner and not 10 feet away, but still the Tazi was going really fast.
