A Purim Telegram in 1962

A telegram sent by the Rebbe to two individuals in Amsterdam, encouraging them to “use out the remaining hours of Purim to increase in Mishloach Monos Matonos and all practical and influence others to do do as well” was sent in 1962.

The first recipient was Mr. Fisher was a representative of the Zionist Israeli Government who was meant to encourage the young generation to move to Israel.

The second recipient is the recently deceased R. Doniel Meijers who was one of the first Lubavitch Chassidim in the Netherlands.

It is interesting to note that the Rebbe used out anyone who may be in a leadership position to get things done even of their philosophy was very far removed from the Rebbe’s.

I’m not sure what you meant in the article when you wrote “It is interesting to note that the Rebbe used out anyone who may be in a leadership position to get things done even of their philosophy was very far removed from the Rebbe’s.”
Rabbi meijers philosophy was not at all removed from the rebbe. He was a great chassid that was extremely batul to the rebbe and he believed in everything that chabad stood for. Not only did he believe it but he was the perfect living example of what a chassid is. Please clarify what you meant in this article as it implies that rabbi meijers did not agree with the rebbes philosophy which is 100% incorrect. Rabbi meijers was a real chossid. Thank you.

It would seem that the reference is to Mr. Fisher, “a representative of the Zionist Israeli Government,” not to Rabbi Meijers.
