8:00pm: Chassidus Applied with Rabbi Jacobson

Following the major success and popularity of the first broadcasts of MyLife: Chassidus AppliedRabbi Simon Jacobson will air Episode Ten tonight, Sunday, March 23rd (21 Adar II) here on CrownHeights.info, beginning at 8:00pm. This week’s class is titled “Coping with Unspeakable Tragedy.”

How does a chassid face unspeakable loss? What do the Rebbeim tell us about tragic deaths that leave young children orphaned, crying for their mother?

This special edition of MyLife: Chassidus Applied is dedicated to Rashi Minkowicz OB”M and will address the single most difficult experience – one that no person should ever have to face: the heart wrenching feelings of personal tragedies and shattered lives. Reeling from recent untimely deaths, with many of us asking the same question that Job brazenly asked of G-d, “Why do good people suffer?”, Rabbi Jacobson will present touching and poignant letters and anecdotes from the Rebbe and Chassidus, offering empowering words of comfort and strength. Sharing the vision and direction of our Rebbeim, he will discuss how we can simultaneously cry, build, heal and forge ahead despite the difficulties.

The topics in this Sunday’s hour-long broadcast will include:

  • Coping with unspeakable loss
  • Why do bad things happen to good people?
  • Do we have answers?
  • Where is G-d?
  • What do we say?
  • What do we do?

MyLife: Chassidus Applied addresses questions that many people are afraid to ask and others are afraid to answer. When asked about the sensitive topics he has been addressing, Rabbi Simon Jacobson commented, “I understand that the stakes are high, but the silence and lack of clarity on matters plaguing the community can no longer go unaddressed. The stakes of not providing answers are even higher.”

The on-going series has provoked a significant reaction from the community, with thousands of people viewing each live broadcast and hundreds of questions pouring in. At the root of every question and personal challenge tackled by the series is the overarching question: Does Judaism have the answers to my personal dilemmas?

In true “Jacobson-fashion”, the broadcast answers people’s questions in simple, clear language while being heavily sourced. Each episode is jam-packed with eye-opening advice from the Rebbeim, gleaned from uncovering surprising gems in their letters, sichos and maamorim that address our personal issues with disarming relevance. Simultaneously, Rabbi Jacobson is able to crystallize a concept quickly, succinctly, and poignantly for any level of listener.

All episodes are immediately available for viewing in the MLC’s archive and can be downloaded as MP3’s for listening on the go.
