Winn-Dixie Hosts ‘Challahpalooza’

Chabad of Tamarac, FL, teamed up with the local Winn-Dixie store to host a “Challahpalooza Family Fest” in preparation for Rosh Hashanah. About two-hundred people came out to sample foods from the store’s kosher deli, as well as taking part in a hands-on challah-making activity, holiday-themed arts-and-crafts and interactive storytelling.

Families such as Miriam Rechtshafer, of Coral Springs, and her two sons, Eli, 3, and Avrami, 4, very much enjoyed the day’s activities.

“We had a great turnout today, double what we expected,” said Anthony Ordonez, store director of the Tamarac Winn-Dixie. “This is all a part of maintaining a strong kosher section for our store. We work with local synagogues and Chabads to fill a need in the community.

“Our partnership with the Chabad of Tamarac is one of our many partnerships in the local Jewish community. Along with everyday kosher products and services at our store, this special event signifies our commitment to providing our customers with everything they need to celebrate Rosh Hashanah with family and friends.”
