DONETSK, Ukraine –- In eastern Ukraine, the Jewish community of Donetsk have concluded it latest seminar. Held from January 6th through 8th, this educational opportunity involved Jewish women, aged 14 and 15 years old. Sponsored and run by the Avi Chai Foundation.

The event, which was facilitated by Anna Skobeleva, a representative of the 'Avi Chai' Foundation in Minsk, was met with a strong turnout of young enthusiasts. The 'Junior' program is aimed at preparing counselors for Jewish camps, as well as leaders for the various youth initiatives organized by Jewish communities across the Former Soviet Union.

DONETSK, Ukraine –- In eastern Ukraine, the Jewish community of Donetsk have concluded it latest seminar. Held from January 6th through 8th, this educational opportunity involved Jewish women, aged 14 and 15 years old. Sponsored and run by the Avi Chai Foundation.

The event, which was facilitated by Anna Skobeleva, a representative of the ‘Avi Chai’ Foundation in Minsk, was met with a strong turnout of young enthusiasts. The ‘Junior’ program is aimed at preparing counselors for Jewish camps, as well as leaders for the various youth initiatives organized by Jewish communities across the Former Soviet Union.

This intensive training session prepared these young enthusiasts through a series of creative and intellectual assignments, which were both diverse and challenging. So too did they make new friends, exchange opinions, and engage in activities focusing on developing their talents in both drama and design.

Over the past few years, the ‘Avi Chai’ Foundation has been working closely with the Federation of Jewish Communities of the CIS and the Or Avner educational institutions, to bring such seminars to Jewish youth from the Former Soviet Union. This represents the largest methodological and practical training initiative being offered to the future leaders of Jewish communities throughout the region.
