Help Fund an Operation that will Save a Little Girl

For most children, the question of what they want/prefer to eat and what to put on their sandwich is the norm and expected. But for Dinush Rivkin, a young four and half year old little girl from Kiryat Malachi, she doesn’t even know what normal food is or how it tastes. Now we have a chance to help!

All she knows is that terrible tasting food she is fed daily via a special feeding tube. Zunda.

Dinush is happy little girl despite being born with a serious congenital birth defect known as Esophageal Atresia which affects the alimentary tract. It causes the esophagus to end in her lungs rather than connecting normally to the stomach.

From the day she was born, Dinush has never tasted any other food or drinks except this horrible tasting Zunda which is bitter and very discomforting. For several hours a day and night, Dinush is hooked up to the IV and fed via this feeding tube.

Very often her body rejects this food and she throws up consistently and on many occasions she even chokes on this food. But it is their only hope and both Dinush and her parents endure the daily pain.

Each and every month, Dinush is sedated and put into a medically induced coma for a complicated and life threatening procedure. At times, complications arise and her already fragile life hangs in the balance. Just last month, she had complications and remained in her self induced coma for three full days.

It is impossible to continue like this!

In the history of the State of Israel, there has only been one similar case to that of Dinush. Alternative medical solutions have not been found.

But there is now a ray of hope!

A private hospital in Boston which specializes in stomach related diseases has reviewed her case and all the doctors unanimously agreed that her only hope is an immediate and complicated surgery which will reroute her esophagus directly to her stomach.

The most senior doctors and professors in Israel who have been treating Dinush, as well as the most prominent medical referrals such as Harav Firer have given their blessings and green light for her and her family to have this operation performed.

She will need all our prayers and Tehillim and everyone is asked to please pray for Dina bas Chaya Mushka for a successful operation and full recovery.

The date for the surgery has already been scheduled. It will take place on the 29th of Cheshvan / November 30th.

There is only one hurdle and that is that the family must pay the cost of the operation upfront to the hospital in Boston.

The cost is 1,500,000 NIS (just under $400,000 USD).

Unfortunately, Kupat Cholim and other insurance from Israel do not even cover a portion of this procedure. The family must pay the full amount in addition to all travel related expenses.

THIS IS YOUR TIME AND CHANCE TO HELP. YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE DINUSH THE ABILITY TO LIVE A NORMAL AND HEALTHY LIFE. NO MORE INTRAVENOUS FEEDINGS, NO MORE ZUNDA, NO MORE CHOCKING AND THROWING UP, NO MORE LIFE THREATINING SITUATIONS.

DINUSH NEEDS YOUR HELP AND SHE NEEDS IT NOW. THIS IS HER ONLY HOPE!

ONLY YOU CAN GIVE DINUSH THIS HOPE FOR A NORMAL LIFE AND TO ENABLE HER PARENTS TO RAISE HER AND HER SIBLINGS WITH NORMALICY.

GIVE DINUSH HER LIFE!
