Picture of the Day: Writing the Children’s Torah

In the picturesque Tzemach Tzedek Shul in the Old City of Jerusalem, an expert scribe by the name of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Henig is busy writing a Sefer Torah. This is the sixth scroll written especially for children, and over half of its letters have already been sold.

Today, Yud-Alef Nissan, is the 34th birthday of this unique project. On this day, Anash are invited to recharge their initiatives to give more and more children a share in this Sefer Torah.

  • Big bucks!.

Over half the letters were already sold – wow! If each letter was sold for a mere dollar, that’s over $300,000 dollars!! That is serious big bucks! And this is the SIXTH sefer torah!!

wow you just woke up. Rabbi Greisman from Eretz Israel fundraises for this project as every letter that is written receives a certificate that is mailed to the recipients home. just the certificate and postage costs A FEW DOLLARS. so now make the cheshbon. if it costs him 2.00 – 3.00 dollars per letter thats 300,000 to 600,000 he has to fund raise for each torah x 6. and then the torah, mantel kesser and siyum costs another bundle. The Rebbe is the one who set the price at 1.00 even though it costs so much more. so plz send YOUR BIG BUCKS to such a great cause.
