Over 600 Attend Oholei Torahs Annual Gala – Gallery #1

Earlier this week Educational Institute Oholei Torah celebrated their Gala Dinner with a crowd of over 600 people. The Dinners theme was the dedication of Yeshivas Kayitz Kingston, one of Oholei Torah’s newest initiatives, an overnight summer camp in Kingston New York, catering 8th grade and Mesivta bochurim.

As the guests arrived for the Gala, they were greeted by the members of the Board. The ballroom was transformed into country style décor, creating a country like atmosphere.

A large group of over 30 friends and supporters were honored at the event, for their generosity towards purchasing and building of the Campgrounds.

The evening opened by Rabbi Nosson Blumes, Director of Development, who, together with his staff, coordinated the Dinner event.

Rabbi Nachman Twersky, Maggid shiur in the Mesivta and a member of the Va’ad Ruchni was honored with reading the Rebbe’s letter from 1967/5727 to the participants of the Dinner, followed by a video produced from JEM media from 12 Tammuz, 1977/5737.

Mendel Schapiro, a former camper, and talmid in the Mesivta, inspired the crowd with a Dvar Torah, and thanked all those who help support the Mossad.

A memorial tribute was made for Reb Mendel Morosow, a”h, and many of his family members joined the event.

A special appreciation was given to Rabbi Yisroel Levertov, Director, Leivik Fogelman, Director and Rabbi Moshe Silman, for their dedication as the administration of Yeshivas Kayitz Kingston.

A fascinating video presentation was shown, covering the 120 acre camp and the it’s many buildings, The video also gave recognition the sponsors and honorees.

HaRav Menachem Meir Weissmandel, Nitra Rov of Monsey, was the evening’s guest speaker. Rabbi Weissmandel spoke of the great mesiras nefesh of the Shluchim, talmidim of Oholei Torah, and the uniqueness of such a mossad.  Rabbi Weissmandel also spoke of Reb Hershy Friedman, of the great acts of Torah and chessed all over the world. Afterwards Rabbi Weissmandel toured the Deitsch campus and visited the Beis Medrash.

Rabbi Joseph Rosenfeld together with Rabbi Blumes, presented an award to Hershy Friedman, and Mrs. Shternie Blumes presented a bouquet of flowers to Mrs. Raisy Friedman. Mr. Friedman thanked Oholei Torah, and its hanhola for all their hard work and efforts in keeping the mossad growing.

Towards the end of the evening, a duet of comedy and music was performed by Yoely Lebowitz and Boruch Sholom Blesofsky. An impressive printed journal containing many advertisements and greetings was distributed to the guests.

The Dinner was uniquely designed by Tammy Carmona, catered by Bension Kohen, video presentation and sound by Zichron Digital, Photography by Meir Pliskin and many others produced a most memorable evening.
