BROOKLYN, NY — On the screen, when they appear at all, Chasidic young women are portrayed as cloistered girls raised for a life in the kitchen. In reality, young women in their late teens and early twenties from Chabad Lubavitch backgrounds shoulder significant leadership roles assisting Chabad representatives all around the world.

Moscow Free Loan society gives Boost to Jewish Families

MOSCOW, Russia — The recently-opened ‘Shaarei Tsedek’ Charity Center has hosted a banquet for the ‘Chaya Mushka Lazar’ Free loan society. Apart from leaders and supporters of the Jewish community of Moscow, this gala event also engaged numerous honored guests.

Shiye Deutch, the Director of the ‘Shaarei Tsedek’ Center, gave the opening speech. Participants took great interest in learning about the ‘Chaya Mushka Lazar’ Free Loan Society, its activities, and various assistance programs. Several interesting talks ensued, delivered by Rabbi Yechezkel Soifer and Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar.

Five Years to the Columbia Shuttle Disaster

Today, the 29th of Shvat, marks five years to the tragic Columbia Shuttle accident which claimed the lives of seven astronauts, Ilan Ramon among them.

New Shluchim to Georgia!

Rabbi Zalman and Mrs Nechami (nee Altein) Charytan of Crown Heights have recently moved on Shlichus to Acworth, GA where they have established the Chabad Jewish Center of Acworth serving the Jewish residents of North West Cobb County.

The new Shluchim were appointed by Rabbi Efraim Silverman of Chabad of Cobband Rabbi Yossi New head Shliach of the state of Georgia.
