CTeen Goes Extreme

For the past few years, “Extreme Teens Out West” – spearheaded by – Schneur Zalman Notik – geared towards Jewish boys primarily from the Midwest, has embarked on an exhilarating adventure across six states in the southwestern United States. With its growing popularity, the camp has been welcomed under the umbrella of the CTeen network, opening its doors to teens from Chabad houses across the US and Canada.

After Work, They Put Their Studies to Work

Once a week, Howard Weiss sits down in a cavernous study hall, buzzing with hundreds of teenagers studying ancient Jewish texts, and learns Tanya with Shneur Itzinger, a yeshivah student some 30 years his junior. Weiss is one of many laypeople who study a variety of Torah topics each week at the Lubavitch Mesivta, a yeshivah high school in Chicago.

Pesach Sheini: A Second Chance

Chabad’s Message of Love: A Response to Eric Yoffie

Elazar Gabay, a self described unorthodox Chabad Hassid and Internet Entrepreneur, took to the Times of Israel to take issue with Rabbi Eric Yoffie’s Op-Ed, entitled “Chabad’s Dangerous Message of Love Without Commitment”. Gabay calls Yoffie out on the issue of paid memberships versus Chabad’s free services, and Reform’s dwindling membership.

Building a Vision, Brick by Brick

For the past 10 years, Chabad of the East Valley has operated from a Chandler storefront. To accommodate its growing programs, it holds religious school at the East Valley JCC, summer camp at Temple Beth Sholom of the East Valley and holiday programming at various facilities around town.
