With great sadness and pain we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Dovid Edelman, OBM, veteran educator and Shliach, who was much beloved by the Jewish community he served in Springfield, Massachusetts. His passing occurs mere days after he celebrated his 90th birthday.

Chabad Couple’s Baby Is Town’s First for 2015
The Canadian town of Windsor, located in southern Ontario across the river from Detroit, marked the first baby born in the year 2015 – a healthy baby boy born to local Chabad Shluchim Rabbi Sholom and Rivka Galperin.

Letter & Spirit: Tefillin, Oil Exploration and the Besht
In this week’s edition of Letter & Spirit, we present an intriguing letter from the Rebbe in which he makes a connection between tefillin, oil and gas exploration in the Land of Israel and a teaching of the Baal Shem Tov. The letter was written through the Rebbe’s trusted secretary Rabbi Nissan Mindel, and was made available by the latter’s son-in-law, Rabbi Sholom Ber Shapiro.
