Following the death of 112-year-old Yasutaro Koide in Japan, the oldest man in the world is now most likely an Israeli Holocaust survivor, Yisrael Kristal, also aged 112.

Hatzalah, Shomrim Resuscitate Man who Collapsed While Shoveling Snow
A man in his 50’s out shoveling snow after this weekend’s blizzard, suddenly collapsed. Hatzalah was called and with the help of a Shomrim volunteer together they managed to resuscitate him.

Montreal Students Mark Yud Shvat with Kindness
On Yud Shvat, students of all departments of Bais Rivkah-Montreal were involved in special programs. Three busloads of elementary students (in addition to a number of students who walked), visited senior citizens’ homes throughout the city, to bring simcha, words of encouragement and the message of Hakhel.

Winter Storm Jonas Brings NYC to a Standstill
The predictions were all true – and then some, over 20 inches of snow has been dumped by winter storm Jonas and is not expected to stop until late Saturday night. Three people have died in Staten Island and Queens and there were more then 300 reported car crashes. A full travel ban has been in effect since 2:30pm today.

Released Time Children Gather in 770
In Honor of Yud Shvat, The Released Time Program hosted a grand Hakhel gathering. 600 children from public schools across NYC gathered in 770 on the day that marks the Yartzait of the Frierdiker Rebbe and 66 years of the Rebbe’s leadership.
